All of a sudden I really wish I still lived in Kingston...if anyone from Toronto is seriously thinking about going to this show and wouldn't mind some company, let me know, it's been WAY too long since I saw WT live...hopefully this will be followed by them going back into the studio in the near future! BTW, does anyone know which venue they're playing at? ************************************************* Mike Keast (michael.keast@giffels.com) http://www.geocities.com/dtswd/ "i don't care if they eat me alive i've got better things to do than survive" ************************************************* ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Dec 2000 09:28:31 -0500 From: rturingan@dico.com Subject: Re: BST: cute lil reindeer [torontofumblers] LMAO omg i wish i went to see my sister as a reindeer..... well looks like that is one for the website (chelle's website).. My one regret about buying this CD is that I'll probably wear it out soon if I keep playing it as much as I have. > 8. Now you hurt my feelings. :-) They're from a town in northern Sweden called Skelleftee (pronounced roughly as "shell-eff-teh" by the locals). There's actually a connection between them and your no 2 on the list. A couple of months ago a friend of mine asked if I'd bought any good CDs recently so I mentioned Nina Gordon and asked her if she knew who that is. She said "sure" and told me that a few weeks before, she'd received a slightly hysteric e-mail from a friend of hers called Andreas - - one of the guys in The Drowners. The e-mail went something like "Guess who just called us up? Nina Gordon!!! She wants to do a song together with us!!! Can you believe it???" > 2. Nina Gordon!!! She wants to do a song together > with us!!! Can you believe it???" That's interesting that Nina Gordon wants to record a song with them, especially given that their album includes a song they did with her ex-partner Louise Post...both Nina and Louise end up working with a little-known Swedish band, that's an awfully strange coincidence, don't you think? :) ************************************************* Mike Keast (michael.keast@giffels.com) http://www.geocities.com/dtswd/ "i don't care if they eat me alive i've got better things to do than survive" ************************************************* ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Dec 2000 11:08:25 -0500 From: Paul Schreiber Subject: soundboard boots A friend of mine is interested in recording an Emm show. I'll be there with my girlfriend (hopefully in time for the Bot's. See you there. I also purchased Coldplay. I went to the Radiohead show in TO and had heard of them previously, but when I left after the amazing show there were people outside the ACC handing out Coldplay stickers. I knew right then what I had to do. It wasn't all that easy finding a copy (I live in the States) but well worth it. Also recommended for those who enjoy mellow... The Red House Painters Yes they are on a couple of GAP commercials now, but I don't hold that against them. I saw them a few years back at Lee's Palace, and was fortunate enough to meet the band. Two thumbs up.
