I'd also be interested to hear what anyone who's heard her stuff had to say... They're gearing up the hype machine something fierce for this girl. Her album hasn't even come out yet, and she's already been on the cover of a national magazine (Elm Street), and had a major feature in the Toronto Star this past weekend. She hasn't even played many Canadian shows yet - she's opening for Jacksoul on their current tour at the moment, though. She apparently played a few Lilith dates last year - anyone catch any of those? Entertainment Weekly calls her "the thinking person's Christina Aguilera", which might just be a lazy bit of journalism ("Oh, look, a pop singer with a Latin background!" ;-P), but doesn't particularly incline me favourably towards her, if you know what I mean. ;-) She does write her own songs and the album ("Whoa, Nelly") is supposed to be quite stylistically diverse, from dance-pop to more singer-songwriter stuff, but from what I've read, seen, and heard, this looks like yet another case of more style than substance. But I'd be more than happy if someone could tell me otherwise. She *is* a Canadian gal, after all (Victoria-raised, Toronto-based). ;-) - - Tab :) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
