And is it slow? Emm introed it with a story of meeting Joe "her idol" from Def Lepard only to be brushed aside as Joe moved on to Bowie and was brushed off by him. Emm called him on this parallel and a friendship has grown out of it. Piano ballad. Everyone in the audience was laughing as they figured out what song it was. When she sang "Im hot, sticky sweet" everyone lost it and then Emm started laughing too. Dana is right about Santa Monica. You will all die. It was a really good show. I love how the strawbs try and play as much as they can from all their albums, and with 6 to choose from this is quite a lot to fit into an hour and a half set, or however long they were playing. Anyways, They will be playing in London on the 13th and Toronto on the 14th and I will be at both of these shows and i will definitely be doing merch at these ones, so it should be good. On Friday i went to see Chantal at the grape and wine festival, I still can't believe Emm didn't get to play, cause it would have been a nice HUGE crowd for her and she would have been able to play on a nice Grand piano. So instead of Emm they had a stupid DJ playing music from last year. That kinda sucked cause we had to wait till around 9:30 tillChantal came on. I still think they should of had some sort of opener. Anyway, Chantal was great, and Jay and I were lucky enough to be right up front for it. Good SHOW!!!!!! Three other shows I wanna plug are as follows Thursday October 5th, Erin Smith Band at C'est What? with Sachne and another band.... This should be a really good show and it is only 4 bucks. Whoo hoo Saturday October 7th Incestuous Band night at the Horseshoe. Starling, Danny Michel and The Supers... This should be an AWESOME show. Come and check out these three amazing bands I am sure they will have some special treats because of the nature of the show. I will be there taking pictures for the bands. And Friday October 27th. Tara Maclean, chelle and Lindi will be doing a benefit at the Spoke in London. This should be an super show as well if you can make it out. WHOO HOO okay that is enough from me for now. BUT, i had to tell someone! first of all. on friday sep 29th i went to muchmusic in hopes of getting inside to be really close to them. and after a lot of luck and whatnot, i ACTUALLY GOT A WRISTBAND. i screamed to high hell i swear. then, during the show, i was just.. soooo happy. they letf in 10 minutes tops! can you believe it? still thats fine with me, im not complianing! then later, a couple hours after i saw KR + karen i think her name is. (i think you guys met my very good friend andrew he has blue hair) the next day, i went to massey hall at 9am just to wait around before the hanson show! it was worth it when i saw them get out of their tourbus and go up inside. taylor even made devil horns! anyways, i had ROW O tickets, aka row 15.. so i bought ROW C (3rd) off a mom for $100. but then the oppurtunity of a lifetime came up. front row centre!!!!!!!!!! so i traded my ticket + $75 for it. and let me tell you it was worth it. either way i ended up spending $225 (i love zellers). if i die now, i'll die contented. if anyone is reading this still, i want to say i cant even describe how amazing it is to see yr one of three of yr favourite bands play and sing and just everything..wow.. however, the back to reality portion is soo shitty! back to school and back to my job and back to home and everything. bleh! i <3 hanson xox love miss priya _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. My personal favorites from the show were: Siamese Star and a new song that someone upfront requested...I can't remember the name of it, does anyone know????! of course, I think the version of "pour some sugar on me" really got the crowd going...WHAT AN AWESOME CHOICE!! This finally puts Crazy Train to rest for me!!!! The story she told about running into the guy from Def Leppard completely cracked us both up, an excellent preface to the new cover version. Enough praise already!! So I've been listening to this girl Nelly Furtado a little bit...she's really good...I went to her website to see her bio and although it's more like a speech from a k-i-a girl in therapy, i think she's OK, does anyone else have an opinion?? peace out, Maddie - ----- "Today's rock gets me down and baby so do you" - -- Emm Gryner _____________________________________________________________ Signup for your FREE email account at http://www.lovemail.com ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V3 #263 ***********************************
