Leslie Feist (aka Feist) http://listentofeist.com the site is out of date but it still rocks. her album Monarch has FINALLY been released in stores and her voice is unlike anything i have ever heard before. truly magical. shes playing a gig at the Horseshoe in toronto with her new band Royal City on thrusday that is not to be missed if you like honest, fun life perfirmances. saw them last week and almost died. we were singing along and it was so intimante. oh dear. love them. Royal City http://www.threegutrecords.com Aaron Riches new band..featuring Feist and a slew of other brilliant musicians. their new record was just released and i think you can her samples of it from the site. its called 'at rush hour the cars'. this was one of the best live shows i've ever seen. i think tab can vouch for that. Daddy Szigeti i dont have a website for Daddy (aka Dave Szigeti) but he is touring with Feist right now..not sure if there are any dates lined up in the near future but his new record JUST came out and i'm listening to it right now. but i cant remember the name and i dont have the cover. its the perfect blend of happiness and..actually i have no idea how to describe it. it's so well done!!!!! jesus. anyway..more info as i find out about it..or maybe someone else knows. Lindi http://lindi.lovesmusic.com yesteryday HG's own Lindi gave me a tape of her new song Slowly Decaying and i almost fell out of my chair. I can't believe that she even exists cause she's so bloody talented. her and Dylan White (aka Cicero) just started working togeter loosly on some stuff and are toying with some awesome ideas about working or touring together...oh AND they are currently working on ideas for a compilation record of musicians around the town...but a good one. a fucking good one. lindi has a cd out called Live at teh Poor alex that you can order at her site and i think there are some mp3's there too... if you EVER get a chance to see her live, do so. WOW. i fink there are a few of us who can vouch for this one. no joke she is a freakin star. and thats just a little list of stuff that i've been entranced by in the last three days. also Rebirth of Cool 7 is too much to handle. please check these musicians out and be happy forever!!!!! ahaha xoxoxoxoxoxoxoinfinity kr _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Dunn" Subject: SEC: Aloha folks, I'm home! Hey everyone, I'm back from Australia. I'm going to stay up late to try and overcome some of this nasty jet-lag business, so you might catch me on IM later on. I had a very wonderful vacation -- beautiful scenery and wildlife, great people, no distractions from the outside world, like e-mail, news media, etc. etc. -- it was great. I took stacks of pictures, mostly of the landscape, so anytime any of you are over at the Fumbler Hilton (tm) you're welcome to look at them... Oh yes, the "Some Emm Content" (heh heh) The ever-wonderful Joni Daniels Fedexed a copy of DR before I left, so I was able to tape it and listened to it a lot on the airplane. For an odds-and-ends album, it's pretty damn good; currently I'm still obsessed with "Suffer", although the perennial favourites such as "Mary Jill" and "Half Sorry" are excellent too. Also got my rock-star Emm Gryner shirt in the mail while I was away, so now I can pretend that I'm musically talented too. I already had one person ask me about it today (the lady at the Thomas Cook Foreign Exchange desk :) ) so it's great promotional material. Off to download some more Bangles songs off the Internet. - - Julian [ Julian C.
