THANK YOU EMM, for continuing to floor me with every performance. sheesh! hope to make it for the last show on saturday... we'll see. :) dana ===== dana wagner -> http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dwagner | university of pennsylvania, class of 2000 "there was no other living thing/ who meant the sum of everything" -eg __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have been an admirer of Emm for a few years now, but at this time I would like to make clear the other reason why I subscribed to this list. I am a graduate student in Sociology at Carleton University, and I'm doing my Master's thesis on Canadian musicians and their Canadian fans. I'm looking for a second population of fans who might be interested in sharing their experiences in listening to Canadian music. Unfortunately, the scope of my research is only large enough to cover Canadian fans (although I personally think it's very cool that she has fans elsewhere!). I get the feeling that there are fair number of you out there, and I wonder if you would be interested in talking to me. Thanks for reading, Sheila Ross Department of Sociology and Anthropology Carleton University ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Aug 2000 17:38:35 EDT From: Caffeine47@aol.com Subject: Hidden Song on DR Hey All- I believe there to be a hidden song on DR. It was a great time. His parents were gracious hosts, and he has a beautiful home. It was my first time seeing Emm perform live, but will not be my last. It was also a pleasure to meet KR (and watch her scramble to find a kaypo!) To those of you who have not made a commitment to purchase Dead Relatives, do it. Cool shirts are now available as well. First of all I must say that I believe it to be one of the most beautiful songs on the CD(along with Half- Sorry). I know this because when I listen to it, it makes me want someone to sing it too. Even though it's about a failed relationship, it makes me want to have someone important enough in my life that after losing them I would be able to write a song like this. Emm's voice is so gentle in it that it makes the whole song come alive. Well that's it. I've had the best summer so far, and this just made it 100x better. All my friends were so impressed and everyone had a blast. I'm a little pissed at my mother because she and her friends were being so loud--damn adults need to be tamed ;) I'm so tired that I don't even know what to write, except Emm rocks and KR made it loads of fun by starting everything off by jumping on the trampoline. ha...Anyway, I'll probably write another review (setlist, etc.) tomorrow but I'm off to bed now!
