And just as a resident Bowie fan... the last 3 CD set was great, Sound & Vision, whoa, though I've never managed to get the fourth (video) disc to play anything but the audio portions. Bowie is very much like Emm in that hearing the songs live gives you a much better understanding of their competence as songwriters; strip it down, build it up, its all good. And they both have similar funny ways of looking at the world, based, I believe, in part, on their goofy senses of humour. I also adore the Rykodisc releases with all those extra tracks. :-) Hmmm, if only Dave-o could sing an Emm song, heh. Sorry, just imaginging hearing, "You are not of this world..." in Bowie's rich tones...nice. James. P.S. You know I still think Fil Bucchino looks like Che... ;-) - -=-=-= "He looked a lot like Che Guevara, drove a diesel van/Kept his gun in quiet seclusion, such a humble man The only survivor of the National People's Gang/Panic in Detroit, I asked for an autograph He wanted to stay home, I wish someone would phone/Panic in Detroit." - Bowie ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Aug 2000 09:05:37 -0700 (PDT) From: Mark Urban Subject: EC: new bio check out the cool new emm bio written by Tony!! at dot com... __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? We're currently in need of 2 helpers to handle the door for an hour or two *during* the show. This will mean possibly missing a set or two during the earlier part of the show. We have 2 main doorpersons already, but they will be turning over the door to someone else after the show starts as they will be occupied with the show. So if anyone is willing to help out for a good cause and get involved with our crew, please drop me a line asap and I'll fill you in on the details. Hey guys, I just can't contain my excitement..... I bought a new guitar on friday!!! I was going to post about it earlier but, you know...you buy a new guitar, and all you want to do is play it, not post about it! :) I've had this cheap classical for five years now and wow did I need a change. It's absolutely the most beautiful thing I have ever owned. It's an acoustic, a Cort cutaway with a built in pickup! YUM! And I bought this great strap, handmade by a local guy. Half the fun was just buying the guitar! I talked to the guys at the store about the upcoming folk festival, we raved about Sarah Harmer, etc. :) But wow. What a guitar. I'm out seven hundred and some bucks, but hell, who cares :) My advice for anyone out there, in any situation: go buy a guitar. now. love Shawna ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ shawna@fumblers.com AIM: Fumblefly fumbler\passenger\canmuser\headliner\resident mm/syl groupie **dancing around the handbasket**wink** - --------------------------------------------------------- "...no plan is the best plan of all..." -j.n. - --------------------------------------------------------- *Are you a Michaela Foster Marsh fan?
