I'm sitting up here in my room debating what CD to listen to next... I go down the rows, nothing sounds right.. Then I get to the Lilith Fair Sampler from 1998. It's been a while since I've listened to it, probably not since last summer. So I put it in, and man, I forgot how much I love this CD! It's just such an incredibly awesome collection of songs don't you think?? Not to mention it was my first exposure to Ms. Gryner. It takes me back to 2 summers ago when I got it and couldn't stop listening to it. I don't know, maybe I'm nuts (actually, I know I am) but k's Choice, Bic Runga, Sister 7, Patty Griffin, Emm, Morley, Dido, Delerium, Joan Jones, Anggun.. they all rock my world. This CD is such a drug for me and I just wanted to babble about it because I'm bored. If anyone's still reading this far, I love you and thanks ;) Sweet dreams! ~Laura ===== "You are what you do in order to prevent becoming what you're busy not doing and if you do do it truly and you arrive at it newly then in the end you are absolved and the problem of heaven is solved." ~Ani DiFranco~ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I only informed the artists of this news yesterday, as we ourselves only heard from Danny's manager that afternoon. Yes, it's true that unfortunately Danny won't be able to join us for the benefit show, as Starling dates take priority over his solo stuff for now. He and his manager are very disappointed about it, as are we, but sometimes these things happen. >It will still be a good show... ( an all GIRL show) hmm wondering if >this >phenomenon is getting kinda old now... First of all, it is not a "phenomenon" - we only asked artists that we liked and respected that we knew would support the cause, and it just happened that they were all women except for Danny. We asked several male performers as well, but in the end it was a mostly female lineup simply because that's the way it worked out. Second, not only will the show "still be good", it'll be absolutely wonderful - only one performer dropped out, it's not the end of the world. We'll miss him dreadfully, but we're lucky to have such a large and excellent roster of artists playing that night that it won't really have much impact on the show. We're sorry if anyone was looking forward to seeing Danny in particular - hopefully you'll still join us to see many of his equally talented friends and peers onstage. - - Tab :) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Jul 2000 18:32:34 -0400 (EDT) From: dwagner@sas.upenn.edu (Dana Wagner) Subject: Re: The Toronto benefit awww, man! not only do i miss danny at the benefit, but i'll be in toronto when starling plays nyc and hoboken. *sigh* i really want to see this band live sometime, and i just keep missing em! i am so in love with their album. well, i guess the only good to come of it is that maybe we'll get longer sets from the amazing group of ladies.
