NJ transit. but the train doesn't go anywhere near shannon. plan c. take the bus to atlantic city, then another bus to shannon's. plan c fails when we realize that will take about 3.5 hrs and by that time we'd miss the show. :( plan d. miss the show and the fun, and have fun of our own in the big bad apple. that won out. i'm skipping all the horrible frustrating details of how leigh and i tried *everything* we possibly could, running back and forth between penn station, the bus terminal, and avis rent-a-car, and yet couldn't make it. i'm still frustrated and bummed that we missed it, but we did end up having a fun day. we went to ruby's diner for lunch, which is my FAVORITE restaurant in california, so i was starting to get happier. it was mmmmm good. :) then leigh realized what would cheer me up... used cd shopping! headed down to the east village and we went CRAAAAAZZZZYYY. ok, here is what i bought today, ranging between $2.99 and $8.99. i pulled a major Jill :D - probably the most cds i've bought in one day. amy correia - "carnival love" (advance) "welcome to the girls room" - capitol sampler with 2 songs from each artist tracy chapman - "telling stories" (Ahhh, to die for!) "after the fair: 21st century women" compilation, including the likes of tara maclean, juliana hatfield, n'dea davenport, dot allison, & more... dot allison - "afterglow" ani difranco - "dilate" ani difranco - "swing set" (new EP, to be released next week) joydrop - "metasexual" (i remember julian, i think, recommending this a while ago, and it was only $2.99!) rickie lee jones - "traffic from paradise" morcheeba - "big calm" tracy chapman (self-titled) uh, yeah, i think that's it. then leigh & i spent a few hours in central park, chillin' listening to some of our new music, avoiding the hip hop and spice girls wannabes on the central park summerstage, and checking out hot guys playing volleyball. anyway, i'm beat. hope everyone at shannon's had a great time, and again, wish i coulda been there. :) we tried, REALLY tried. dana - -- dana wagner --> http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dwagner university of pennsylvania, class of 2000 * "you're forgettable like 1993" ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V3 #192 ***********************************
