[2] especially the vocalizations on hurricane and something else! and five little birds, oh, um, i suppose i could name every song. every song just gets a new life each time she sings it. they kind of spin off into new directions, but always sultry and seductive. oh yeah. orgasmic works too :) and cuong vu [3] just kicked ass last night on the trumpet. and holly told stories about her and cuong in high school and then another about her shoes on the cover of her first album. and lots of cds were sold; the crowd really liked her. and some CPA with lots of chest hair tried to hit on dana :P okay, so my real question is, where is the holly palmer mailing list? :) but at least that girl don't smoke, erica oh yeah, one more thing. so, in one journal entry emm writes "A few of you have been asking about the side band. It's called Nurse, and we're planning to dress up in nurse's outfits (all 4 of us...Megan, Mary, Holly and me...) and sing our songs about medicine." anyway, emm wrote today [6] that they've actually recorded two songs. so, okay. is this a joke, or is there more stuff coming out to make me happy? :) and who are megan and mary? [1] darn, and just as i got comfortable with driving in :) [2] sorry i keep talking about kicking ass. i dunno how that phrase got instilled in my fragile little mind... :P [3] okay, so apparently lots of people swoon as a result of seeing cuong. i admit, i'm one of them. [4] what he does with that trumpet is just fcking amazing. and i just found that he released a cd this year, called bound [5] and also, there's an interview with him here » http://www.omnitone.com/bound/vu-interview.htm [4] hey, i still think cuong is better looking, no offense :P [5] http://www.omnitone.com/bound/ - the site also has a bio and discog and sound samples [6] well, on the ubb board on emmgryner.com. except now i'm confused, because at "Jul 19, 2000 08:59:22 P.M." she was at brownies, nyc. but then again, it's 6:22am! yes! it's another really early in the morning post from erica! good morning! um, &orBits -> http://intothefire.com/icey/ (with my daily fashion update!) something about here and you/gives me/chills. -- braid, "urbana's too dark" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 09:08:27 -0400 From: Michael Keast Subject: RE: Extra Tegan and Sara cd > I've got an extra Tegan and Sara album for sale. The album rocks!! :) I've also got a copy of the T&S album that I'm looking to sell...unfortunately I'm not nearly as impressed with it as most other people seem to be, I've listened to it several times now hoping it would grow on me, but no such luck, as I'm still rather underwhelmed by it. So I figure I might as well pass it on to someone who'll appreciate it more than I do...it's not unopened, but I just bought it on Tuesday so it's basically brand new. I'd like to get $7.00 for it, which is what I would expect to get if I sold it to a used CD store...drop me a line if you're interested. ************************************************************ Mike Keast (michael.keast@giffels.com) http://www.geocities.com/dtswd/ "I'll never be any saner I'm a born entertainer" ************************************************************ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 09:51:51 -0400 From: Steve I Subject: Re: T.&S. It's *really* good. It doesn't look like they're pushing it anymore so you might have to scour the used CD shops. Toronto is a good place to look, they have a good fan base here. In descending order by pricepoint: 1) For the bargain price of $8.99 -- Nina Gordon's "Tonight and the Rest of my Life"!!! Excellent pickup! Once again, incredible recommendation from the wonderful people with amazing taste on this list... a departure somewhat from her Veruca Salt days, but several upbeat rocking songs on here definitely remind you of her roots... 2) $5.99 -- Replaced my copy of Sugar's "Copper Blue" which met its untimely demise at the hands of my 200 disc CD changer about a year ago. 3) $4.99 -- The amazing recent CD release from Mercury Rev, "Deserter's Songs". 4) $2.99 -- Lilith Fair artists! Kacy Crowley's "Anchorless" (think Shawn Colvin/Sheryl Crow cross) and Cinnamon's "The Courier", which features the two amazing songs "Me as Helen of Troy" and "Hopeless Cause" 5) $1.99 -- An obscure little CD by a band called One Dove; I can't describe their sound really, but its kinda sexy... my old roommate Pete found this in a bargain bin a year or two ago and I remember listening to it in his car and liking what i heard. All in all, a productive day. Six pretty good CD's for under $29!!! Gotta love Used CD stores... Rob, who is tiding himself over with Used CD purchases until the NEW Cd purchase of the summer that he is waiting for so patiently gets here... hmmm, can you guess what that is??? I'll give you a hint: it has something to do with Dead Relatives... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 23:31:53 -0400 From: "temporary scars" Subject: Re: Used CD purchases Dude, One Dove rocks (hehe see my email address) but if you like one dove, you'll like Dot Allison who was the front chica for one dove, and is now solo.. i enjoy her cd, and you may too. and nina rocks. very much.
