We want to hear your demos for possible inclusion on unknownwerks : volume 02 (to be released in September). All demos submitted will be listened to by the Unknownwerks A+R team and one or more tracks may end up on the next unknownwerks collection. Ifselected, you'll also be featured on www.girlson.com. For full details on demo requirements and where to send them, head over to http://www.unknownwerks.com/girlson.html i know we don't have a lot of *electronic* artists on these lists, but maybe some of you know people who might be interested (especially since i know many of you are VERY into electronic music). sounded cool, thought i'd pass it along. the astralwerks site is (surprise) www.astralwerks.com dana - -- dana wagner --> http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dwagner university of pennsylvania, class of 2000 * "all of the commentary comes between all the living." -emm gryner ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2000 00:56:07 -0400 From: "Andrea" Subject: Re: Tara in Toronto... weekend roadtrip! > LOL! LEONA NAESS "comatised". brilliant. in fact, i'm listening right now. :) august 7th, bowery ballroom, nyc... woohoo! um, others that have REALLY grabbed my attention this year were: starling, "sustainer" (thanx everyone) joseph arthur, "come to where i'm from" (thanx markeee) feist, "monarch" (ok, it was released last year - sue me, it's still one of my faves) supreme beings of leisure, self-titled tara maclean, "passenger" (it was released in 2000 in the U.S. so it kinda counts, but of course i bought it when it came out in canada) chantal kreviazuk, "colour, moving and still" (ditto the notes i just wrote about passenger) bebel gilberto, "tanto tempo" (it's REALLY good - trust emm on this one) and if it were supposed to come out today as it should have, holly palmer's "tender hooks" which i know is going to be brilliant. but to add some EC, i'd have to say that science fair has by far gotten the most spins of any album i've listened to this year (since it was released, actually). ciao. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2000 09:38:42 EDT From: Zelie519@aol.com Subject: Re: Amanda Marshall, Tara & BNL, Moose and Damhnhait Doyle <>>> OOPS!!! Does anyone know if Emm is planning any other "DR nights" besides the one in New York? I can't think of a better excuse for my first visit to NYC than to see Emm, so I'd be there in a heartbeat if I could, but I can't just pick up and go to New York in the middle of the work week, and I'm guessing there are a lot of other people on the list who are in the same boat as me. Also, her "image", as it were, has changed a lot since that CD. I listened to bits and pieces of "Hyperdramatic" in the record store but nothing leaped out at me, not even usual "star" track numbers such as 2 or 5. Hmm. Hey everyone, I haven't posted for a while, mainly cuz I'm just using this list to keep updated with Emm and her doings...well, I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Emm and DDR. I've been having the most awful year so far, and one particular depressing event that happened to me, down here in good ol' SA...my car got stolen..with a signed copy of Science Fair in it. I was really sad about it...wrote to Emm, and was hoping to order it again before the new album came out. But I haven't had the 'means' to do so as yet. This weekend in the post I received a copy of Science Fair from Emm and DDR. I can't describe how I felt...it just made my day/year !! I am so grateful.
