OKay kids....

Check out these cool links for some HOT info about gigs in Ottawa from July 14th
to July 16th..  Chelle and Lindi will be playing at Rasputin's on Saturday July
15th along with a special opener Shawna Caspi.  The show is at 8:30 and cover is
a mere 6 dollars for this event.  What a steal!!!

As well, our beloved Emm Gryner will be performing at The Fresh Festival  in
Ottawa on July 18th. Tickets are 18 dollars or a 3 day Festival pass is a mere
35 dollars.

  that friday's show was quite amazing...but not as amazing as the next
morning when david woke up and discovered he had lost his voice
completely and was forced to cancel sat's gig much to the disappointment
of fans (though i couldn't believe the scalpers hanging around a block
away trying to dump their tickets for $$$ to unsuspecting fans walking
to the roseland, blissfully unaware of the cancelled show...*grrrr*)

  fortunately db got most of his voice back and gave another memorable
performance last night, including reworked versions of 2 never-before-
played-live tracks he had composed all the way back in the 60s and a
guest appearance by thomas dolby on keyboards...i'm sure this show has
already been reported/reviewed so i won't bore you guys with more
details, but emm was having so much fun doing sporadic keyboard duties
on a yamaha csx and even got to show off her clarinet talents (though
i'll have to give her a hard time about a little misblown note...*haha*)
besides sharing "doo wop" duties with holly who also did some percussion
stuff...spotted afterwards was the cure's keyboard player (simon gallup?
roger o'donnell??) as well some other notables...

  and yes, i did get a chance to say hiya to emm from markeee and dana,
so it was all cool...also dragged greg t. to monday's show but looks like he 
had a great time too, esp when emm remembered him (from c'est
what?)  *heh*

  well, it's back to the sf bay area for me, i have 3 consecutive
natalie merchant gigs (interpreting folk songs as well as covering her
own stuff) to look forward to starting this thursday at a couple of
californian wineries, lilith-head lois is flying in for some of those
shows so it'll be cool seeing her again!  :)
