(sung to the tune of Ticket 152) oh yes... and my deepest apologies in advance for the crosspost... but I thought some ppl on HG would enjoy this "review" =) but anyways... Jessica Wise-One wondered: >I'm surprised no one has mentioned Trish's gig -- how was that? Ok, so I guess I'll field this one... since I am officially Trish's mini-me, or in this case mini-T... and cos I love Trish and she's my god =) friend... god... whatever ;) anyways... Trish and her posse arrived at the infamous C'est What slightly off schedule... but she didn't let their traveling mishaps get in the way of putting on a great show... and great it certainly was! Now, I haven't seen Trish play in quite a long while, so that in it of itself was a treat... she was looking tres sexy rock star bitch ;) which was very nice... but not only did she grace us with her usual piano\guitar magic melodies... but she also brought along her friend (and a generally fun-loving guy) Ryan who also happened to be her new drummer and player of instruments in which you hit (i.e. xylophone type things) and I must say they sounded ***AWESOME*** together... I can't remember the setlist exactly... it was a week ago... but I do remember some of the songs she played which included: nonsense (with kewl drum intro), ticket 152, flames, malcolm (gotta love the new stuff), sweet (refer to above), somebody (DM cover that I fuckin love to death esp. with Ryan on that Xylo thing), Ben Folds 5 cover (I can't remember what it's called but Trish looks kewl slamming down on those keys!) and other such smash hits ;) All in all, Trish kicked ass like she always does... and no I am *NOT* bias ;) oh yeah... and Trish was opening for the incredible Erin Smith Band... who blew me outta the water... go check her out at www.theerinsmithband.com... cos she's kick ass kewl... That is all =) ~chelle N.P. What's funny was the people at the table behind me were talking Sarah M. and Buffy :) Oh yeah, the show: by far the best show I've seen Tara do ... this was show #5 for me. Tara was incredibly talkative, and I *love* stories. :) The sound was great -- Tara's sound guy always does a great job, despite the lack of things like monitors. They know they've got friends on the road, people who really help to make it worthwhile. And she's getting a RATHER strong following for it-- at Jen & Dan's wedding last weekend (which most of y'alls missed, but I didn't), we spend a lot more time that weekend listening to Tara than anyone else (especially when Heather and I were on the 700-some-odd mile drive from Dallas to Omaha!)... > Well, I look forward to seeing some of you at Tara's SF & > NYC gigs, Ahem, and the DC show too, perhaps? :) Hey, I'll be there... and the 9:30 club is a terrific venue.
