GRRRR. this *always* happens when i want to go to toronto. and after the 11th i will be completely done with finals, classes, papers, and everything academic for the rest of my life. so if anyone wants to hang out after then, i am freeeeeeeeeeeeeee. lalala. that's all for now, folks! dana - -- Dana Wagner University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2000 http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dwagner/ "everything i've given has changed along the way, and everything i told you, you think i never meant to say." -emm gryner ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Apr 2000 03:14:07 -0400 From: "Burning Alive" Subject: Re: One order of Krispy Radfood, hot and greasy! Ever see Miss Saigon? There's a whole song about the children the Vietnamese women have with American G.I.s. Then the GIs go back to America never to be heard from again. So basically these are the abandoned kids who are living a horrible life and they want there fathers to take them back to the USA and the mothers are saying that's not really where they belong. The next verse is just how America pretty much sucks anyway with all the drugs (That's pretty obvious). The first and last verse are more about dicking over the people living in America perhaps. Not caring about immigrants or the small town laborers...immigrants looking for a better place to go won't find it in the US. The ducks are back, for those of you who have are asking about them, although my mama corrected me last week, informing me that they are actually geese. Whatever they are, they are back and they are loud and they are after me. Markeee's Gary Barlow in a frame looks down at me, rather auspiciously...as do the row of Dead Relatives album cover submissions I've lined up on my window sill...the winner and the runners up. Skip the next paragraphs if you want to know who the winner is, but make sure you come back to finish up. I wrote on the Emmbassy that music and art is just a diversion and I take all of that back now. It was a stupid thing to say, of course, it trivializes the beauty and power of music and implies that art is about as important to life as cheesecake is to dinner, and we all know that cheesecake doesn't sustain very well, although if it did, life would be a lot nicer. But I digress. Congratulations to.....Karen Baer of Brampton who submitted the winning cover for Dead Relatives! WAY TO GO! Check back and you'll be able to see her artwork, as well as the runners-up and honourable mentions, including Mark Urban's submission, which managed to arrive unscathed, all of his candy still glued to the artwork!
