(fez content) ["Sharon Gallagher" > I just want to say you people (headliners) are so f*ckin' awesome!!! it is sooo amazing to know there are people out there who feel the same way i do about music in general, and Emm specifically. i would agree, i've NEVER heard a singer who brought out so many emotions in me (especially from her sad, slow songs)... there have been times when i've just been sitting there listening to her, and i'd hear a song, or even a single note from her, maybe just the way she sings a certain word, and my whole body just aches. i just shudder and the amazing intensity that she puts into every word, every note. her music is so deeply personal, its on a level unlike any i've ever heard. i want to cry. 3 cheers for Emm, and for bringing back the passion in music! honest to god, i have 600 CD's in my collection now, and before i heard Public for the first time (specifically Acid, my first introduction to Emm almost two years ago now), i had not heard a CD that brought out as much emotion in me since Tori Amos' "Little Earthquakes" all the way back in 1992. and now my love for Emm far surpasses anything i've ever felt for Tori. Tori may be more issue oriented and her songs may have deeper meanings to them, but no one does pure unadulterated emotion from deep within her soul quite like Emm. 3 cheers for Headliners and their amazing tastes in (and passions for) good music. regards, Rob, who is having "I want to see Emm play Parting Song and a Case of Tornados" at the Fez this weekend" issues... (but since i can't make the drive, i'll have to "settle" for seeing Tara in Cleveland... not a bad consolation prize if i do say so... but you still know where i'd rather be) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 22:06:05 PST From: "roberto w" Subject: photos of beautiful brunette hey! rumour has it that certain people of taste and distinction may encounter some fresh pictures of a particular sensational singer/songwriter if they direct their web browsers to the emmporium. http://www.soundcheck.ca >she's young. I am just spoiled I suppose, especially after last summer when it seemed like I was catching Emm every other week, if not more frequently than that. I must say that I am happy to see how far she is getting, despite the fact that she is no longer signed to a major label. It is saddening to see that she has left her management (Michael and Joni) It's almost like a close to a chapter of her musical career, one which I was a character in the plot. It seems now that Toronto is becoming less of a major role for Emm and her career. She has become a Southern Dreamer setting her sights to the big(ger) city. I suppose it is not uncommon to have such dreams and aspirations. Given the opportunity, I would probably do it as well. I just hope she doesn't forget about us here in Toronto. Hope she doesn't forget about the fan base she has built here. I do wish her the greatest of success in the future and know that she will accomplish that. As an american friend of mine once said, " I want to keep you my own secret, It won't be to long till they know..." (smiles) Anyway, I could go on and on here, dragging this email out, but instead I will end it here and just state. I miss having Emm around Toronto and seeing her every other week. I wish I could go to New York City and see her and the rest of you at the Fez, but alas my path is not destined towards that fate. I will be leaving Toronto for two weeks mid April for a little get away from every day life. I do have a bit of a surprise though and many of you (on the Toronto Fumblers mailing list) already know about it. All I have to say is that if you were at Toronto Lilith Fair last year, and/or the C'est What? show just prior to it. Please get in contact with me in the next couple of days, because I have some special information to share with you. (please email me at HOME rannie@idirect.com however and not at this work account, you will not regret it.)
