"case of tornados when you come around everything that matters goes underground tornados every day and you're trying to blow me away" we videotaped the show. a friend did the filming, so he's going to go make a copy for me. hopefully i'll figure out how to put up video clips, and sometime in the near future get clips of it on my site or someone else's. nite, dana - -- Dana Wagner University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2000 go elsewhere --> http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dwagner "i am slowly getting there, the place between love and i don't care." -emm gryner ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Mar 2000 22:59:27 -0800 From: Paul Schreiber Subject: Re: Emm show tonite Shannon wrote: >I got to hear Andy of the North! It was *so* touching....and Emm's voice during the song sounded a way I never heard from her before. I was left almost speechless when it was finished. Dana and I just sorta looked at each other and tried to come up with some words that would do the song justice. :-) Ok I have to write a freaking paper now...ew... love shannon Life is a battle in which we fall from wounds we receive in running away. -- William L. Dana and I just sorta looked at each other and tried to come up >with some words that would do the song justice. that's exactly it; it leaves you speechless. i spent the majority of last night, up reading and writing this paper, and listening to this song. there are a few particular parts in the song where the intensity rises to a point where you are just so overcome by its power and its beauty, it's almost scary. i have never heard *that* much emotion come out of any singer before - not even emm. it completely melts everything inside you. dana - -- Dana Wagner University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2000 go elsewhere --> http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dwagner "i am slowly getting there, the place between love and i don't care." -emm gryner ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 10:45:42 PST From: "Tab Siddiqui" Subject: Re: Leona Naess/New releases Jess (hey, Jess! :)) wrote: >And, Tab, that's funny you brought up her interview in Jane >magazine! I also kind of don't like her flakey-Hollywood attitude (interviews, tv), but... she's young. She has amazing vocal control and power... And many catchy tunes... Last I heard she was recording in LA with David Leonard (Barenaked Ladies)... She really deserves to be heard. Yes. She is one of my all-time favorites. I have learned every song on her new album because I love them soo much. She's amazing. She worked with Jay Joyce once again and it is rumoured that they recorded in a church (that was initially what she wanted to do)... I was pretty much just wondering if anybody's heard of her and/or has heard her cd "Isn't Life Fine"... My friend hosted a LRS for her in '98 and I saw/met her, before she went on to play the San Diego Lilith Fair last year, among other things. She's the sweetest woman in the world (next to Emm of course!!) and I started listening to her cd the other day, after not listening to it in a very long time.. and I just fell in love with it again. It's one of those that puts you in a good mood for the entire week and suddenly everything starts going right again. Ok I'm probably not making sense anymore, and I'm rambling, sorry. Anyway, if you know of Lisa, email me or something.. I'm just kinda curious to see what other people think. See ya ;) ~Laura ===== Music: breathing of statues. Perhaps: silence of paintings.
