Now that EVERYONE knows that Rob and I WILL FOR SURE be going to Toronto to see Tara and Dido on March 8th... I have another question... Rob and I were talking about the HMV appearance that's taking place earlier that day.... Will Tara AND Dido be there?? I can't seem to find the posting giving the details about that appearance. I THINK it's both of them... but Rob wasn't sure if Dido will be there. Can anyone help??? Hope to see lots of you guys there (I already know Rannie is going... who else???) Smile! :-) Stephanie P.S. I want to put my two cents in about the "Emm Watch" e-mail craze... I also feel left out because I don't have an "Emm Watch!" LOL!! It seems like EVERYONE has them or is getting them... even Rob got one from Trish for his birthday last year! LOL!! Rob and I were going to stop at Toys R Us in Ohio last night to see if they had them, but they were closed... :-) Ok, I gave my opinion, I'm done now! :-) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Feb 2000 09:25:41 PST From: "kristy radford" Subject: bad little mirch girl hey everyone merch girl here reporting in 4 or 5 days late as usual. hmmm where to begin.... so the boston shows were amazing. we start off with the ultra social, ultra amazing Sebastien. vetran living room show host and Heather Nova fan extrordinare. misplaced the set list but no matter because the mind blowing moment of the show was Emm unveling her new tune 'Parting song'. I can't really find the words to explain what happened, all i can say is that it's lucky that i chose to film it all from the safety of the kitchen because i started crying the second she played the first note. Honestly, no song has ever made me feel that much emotion(and i kinda hope no song ever does again). emm completely captured the essence of all things beautiful again. Everything about it is PERFECT. the lyrics go far beyond anything that emm has ever written i think. (not that i can remember them now or anything) i couldn't stop crying. ugh even thinking about it makes me want to cry. ok new topic. next we ventured to kim littlejohns house. how great to hear kim play again!! packed audience and lots of empty cans of rootbeer. (sorry jessica!) graced with Parting Song again and added to the set list were the much underplalyed 'Serenade' and 'Stereochrome'! accompanied on guitar by the one and only Nigel Powel (from the band unbelievable truth). WOW. how great to finally see Serenade live...and Stereochrome with guitar!!!!!!!!!! we were definetly in heaven. finally, our travels took us to Stephanies house for an intimate gathering of fairly new emm fans(most from the tara mclean list). i think 'headline Girl' was added to this setlist along with nigels beautiful rendition of 'My Funny Valentine' and Jessicas amazing cover of a Tara McLean song. wow. also recorded the latest tourdiary at michels pizza! woo! i think that's it folks. hope everyone can make it out to danas livingroom show tonight.......go to http://emmgryner.com for all the details. have fun and brace yourself for the new song. and spread lots of hugs around! xo merchgirl ps for anyone lucky enough to get to go to Tricia Concepcion's show tomorrow night in Southgate Michigan, please drive carefully. This song is incredible... So moving and beautiful... I like that it deviates from the traditional "pop/rock" songwriting patterns... You know, verse chorus verse chorus blah blah... Anyway, I hope it becomes a song she plays fairly often because it is really beautiful. As far as Emm covers, she has to put her amazing cover of Unbelievable Truth's "Be Ready" on it... Wow. Actually, don't laugh so hard just yet ... :-) I realized after I'd written my message that a professor of mine really did buy a Crazy Planet watch and retrofit with a microprocessor running Linux. The professor is none other than Steve Mann, who does a great deal of research into wearable computing. So there you go...
