Wassup Gs? I talked about my campus radio station earlier this (school) year, and I finally got a spot :-) Yay! Granted it is a co-hosting spot, but I'm definetly excited! You know what this means?! It means that London and surrounding area will hear more of Emm Gryner, Ivana Santilli and the rest of the good Canadian musik out there. And maybe I can help CHRW a little by playing a few more female voices. (We suck a little in that category). Don't get me wrong, I love me some great boy bands, but let's face it, there's the other 51% of the world's population with talent out there! Anyway, I know you allllll want to listen, so if you're within CHRW frequency, check out 94.7 on your dial. If not, you have no excuse. You can listen on Real Audio at http://www.usc.uwo.ca/chrw/main/ra.htm and please call (519) 661-3600 to make requests or just to say "hi"! The show's called "Mmmmm Beefy". Don't ask, just listen every Friday at 7 to 9 am!!! - --andy-- AIM: TheAndyC ICQ: 10294764 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Jan 2000 13:00:16 EST From: TrishTLC@aol.com Subject: List members make the news! An excerpt from "The Observer"(Sarnia Newspaper) - Monday January 3, 2000. "...Four, three, two, one..." Screams break out on the main floor of the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre as a broadcast from Time's Square shows a crystal ball dropping, signaling the entry into a new millennium. A strobe light is switched on, turning the celebrations by nearly a thousand revelers in Sardinia into a series of interrupted motions. (interviews of some of the locals...) Kristy Radford, 20, traveled from Toronto to watch Emm Gryner take the stage. She and her friends link arms, calling out to Gryner. They hold up placards that read: We love you. Radford has been to Sarnia three times, following Gryner, who is from the Forest area. "She just radiates something that's really, really warm," says Radford. "You're beautiful," calls out Gryner. "It's eleven twenty-two and you're beautiful." She looks much like a tomboy, with her impish face, wild hair, and tattoos, playing guitar in a floor-length taffeta skirt and bare-backed, sleeveless black top. Her small frame is dwarfed by the vastness of the bare stage. The audience loves her. "There's no way you're going into the twenty-first century sitting down," she says, switching tempo from a slow song to Holiday, as Radford and her friends hold up a series of cards that spell out "Holiday." (the rest of the article is more interviews with other Sarnia locals...) There is one picture of Kristy, with Lauren S., Andrea C., me, emm's brother and mom in the background. The caption reads, "Kristy Radford, 20, in the party hat, travelled from Toronto to watch her favourite performer, Emm Gryner, at right. (At left in photo above is Gryner's mother, Linda.) The other picture is one of Emm playing bass and singing.
