On the way back from Forest, I found that I'd brought Dar Williams' "The End of the Summer" with me. It was really quite fitting, driving back and seeing all the leaves beginning to change colour (I actually pulled off the 402 at some random exit to take pictures, but it appears that the only place trees have been planted in that area is right beside the highway!). It was quite wistful :) > Did you find the road pulled funny in sections? I saw this car go zoom > zoom across the road and I was thinking what's up with that, when it > happened to me at the same spot! Weird! The way they were doing that construction was really weird (actually it was one reason why I was late... because I had to head down the 402 the wrong way for about ten kilometres before I could get going in the right direction). You'd think they would just close one side of the highway, and rebuild it, but it seemed like they were alternating back and forth. Hmm, your tax dollars at work - -- Mike Harris :) > Forest is a nice little town, now I understand why Emm is so cheery all > the time :-) It is a nice town! I stayed a bit at the fair (since I'd paid my five bucks to get in) and watched the tractor pull, and took pictures of the prize-winning "Largest Pumpkin" and "Tallest Sunflower Plant". :) Ahh, small-town Ontario... ya gotta love it. > (4) Disco Lights (- sorry Julian) RRRRRGGH Although it looks like she didn't play 'Idaho', the new song, so I'm not THAT disappointed :) - - Julian [ Julian C. I will be having a "benefit" party at my humble abode for a good friend of ours who lost her belongings in a fire at our apartment complex recently. The wonderfully sweet and incredibly talent Tricia Concepcion will playing at my house that evening so that is an added incentive and definitely a good reason to take a road trip. This is the same Tricia Concepcion that just played a set with some other amazing artists in New York Freakin' City this past weekend! Can you believe that???? And soon she'll be playing in my living room!!! Amazing! I can't promise it'll be as much of an amazing experience as Kristy's trip to NYC, but we'll sure try! If you want more details, email me privately or email Tricia at MsTriciaC@aol.com. If you give me your snail mail address, we've made up some lovely fliers and i'd be all too happy to send you one. if i don't see ya here, perhaps i'll see ya the week before at Tricia's CD release party in Southgate, MI. take care, fellow emmbassadors! So I am not gonna post about that.. Nor am I gonna post about the amazing Emm fans that showed up in NYC or how fabulous Kristy Radford was at the merch. table ( i miss doing merch for the wild strawberries ) Anyways.... I am not even gonna post about all the hacky sacking we did from rest stop to rest stop, frent grand central station to central park to the fez and the dark star, which leads me to the real reason why I am ranting and raving about NYC. I just have to say that Jessica Wieser sang and incredible version of July. It was so powerful and beautifully done.
