Are you sick of what is being considered "Good Music" by radio and TV? I know I am. Do you want to get the Dish on up and coming artists? Well, I am here to plug a new web zine called Cat's Cradle, created by our very own Cat!!!! It's a weekly web zine that features indie artists and not so mainstream music. The first issue featured, ahem, Tricia Concepcion, and future issues will feature Jessica Weiser, Chelle, and Emm Gryner. It will also have reviews of new albums, concert reviews, etc. So if you want to know where the real music is, subscribe to Cat's Cradle by e-mailing Cat at: Cats CradLe Zine@aol.com with "subscribe" somewhere in there. Yes, those ARE spaces, don't let the email address fool you! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Sep 1999 09:18:55 -0400 From: "James McGarry" Subject: Re: out of the lurkers corner and over to Beach Fest - ----- Original Message ----- From: Duncan Reith Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 1999 8:29 PM > Before I slip back into the lurkers corner, I just want to say that I can't > wait to get the opportunity to see her play a full set sometime in the near > future. And you get that opportunity this Saturday (the 11th), at Burlington Mall (4pm) a relatively short drive. "The Sunrise Records store at the Burlington Mall is celebrating "Teen Week" with a parking lot extravaganza. Emm performs at 4pm. All ages! Outdoors! Free!" And later in the month "Sun Sept 26 Forest, ON Fairgrounds 2pm"... (an expression I've picked up from Kevin Thompson :) ) It was great not just because Emm played [in a surreal setting -- the middle of a field!] but also because we had so many talented young women there, such as yourself, Jess! Plus it was great to hang out afterwards and talk/sing, even though I had to drink the American beer Birthday parties like that -- hell, parties like that don't happen too often, so I'm really glad I was able to go. Thanks to Rannie for driving, again. It was fun! - - Julian - --- Julian C.
