It's right below where the old racetrack used to be, and where they're building condos now (in typical Toronto style) - - Julian - --- Julian C. I'm floored that this girl has only been playing for about a year now. Her talent is incredible and her potential is limitless. Emm played at Tricia's birthday party last weekend and Emm herself says on her tourdiaries (available at www.emmgryner.com) that Tricia is an amazing songwriter. I've only listened to it twice, but i'm already hooked. whoever it was that said Trish sounds a little like Emm, and maybe even a little like Juliana Hatfield or Kay Hanley from Letters to Cleo was right on. I can definitely hear a little of each in her songs. My favorites so far are: The Flames, People, Ticket 152, Speculation, Penny Candy, and Power Trip. There is also a hidden track after the very good Anything is Everything. I don't know the name of that, but that song is phenomenal. If you guys love Emm (and i know you do), check out Tricia, if you haven't already. Some of you probably are already one step ahead of me and have actually seen her live opening for Emm, but if you haven't, do yourself a favor and get this CD. Email her at TrishTLC for details on where to send for a copy. Happy Listening!!! (for now) Hello y'all! Just wanted to let everyone know that I just put up my newly renovated site...it's PROUDLY CANADIAN MUSIC and I hope you like it. I finally decided to redesigned it when I just couldn't look at it anymore. I hope you'll like it. It contains most of the same content as before, but also a new area I call "unheard music"...so far it's small, as I haven't had much time to build it up. (But psst...that's our very own talented Chelle there...d/l the mp3 if you haven't bought the CD, you won't be dissapointed!) But if you're an independent Canadian act, I'd be happy to put up your music and info :-) Please check it out at: http://home.istar.ca/~andyc/proudlycanadian and support emerging Canadian artists! The reason for my quick site makeover is because I'm leaving for school (in London, Ontario), on Monday and didn't know when I'd have the chance to change it again...this also means that I'm not sure when I'll be re-connected to this email address. I don't know what my school address is either, but you can reach me at bitohspice@yahoo.com until then. That's where I'll be subbing on to lists for now... :-) ~Andrea! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ICQ: 10294764 AOL IM: TheAndyC http://listen.to/canadianmusic - canadian-music@smoe.org "Shoot me a scene where I'm easy, where pieces fit and people agree" -EG ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 Sep 1999 18:53:11 -0400 From: Nat Loh Subject: Re: Emm @ Beachfest i'm coming from new york via greyhound. help me get there! can any torontoians either 1)give me instructions how to get to the beachfest and meet me there 2)pick me up at the bus station =) 3)pick me up at the bus station in a limo =)!!! j/k. no one has to pick me up unless they really really want to see my emm pictures before anyone else. don'ku nat At 06:15 PM 9/3/99 -0400, Andrea wrote: >> I presume it's going to be at Ashbridge's Bay again... > > all this talk of Beachfest is making me miss homesick, and I >haven't left yet! It's not going to be a full-featured site, as I think www.emmgryner.com does an admirable job, but instead it's just going to contain miscellaneous stuff (mostly photos / articles) related to Emm. As such, it's currently called "EmmMiscellany" (sorry, no puns here... I might rename it to take advantage of an Emm or Public pun :) ) The URL is: http://www.aquezada.com/emmmiscellany/ I figured that getting at least some of the site up will be motivation enough fro me to scan the rest of the pictures. I'm currently fighting a losing battle against them :) - - Julian [ Julian C.
