Emm looks amazing! Much different than her cd cover. Thanks for sending the pics. Hey all, I thought I'd have to go through hell for at least another 3 or 4 days before I got my copy of SF, but I got it today! So, what does everyone think? Just wondering... Maybe I'm posting this a little too early yet. My personal favs are some of the ones I've already heard her play live(maybe that's why they're my favs) - Stereochrome, Revenge, Boy Races, and Good Riddance. I haven't gotten my copy of SF yet, but Trish played me Revenge on the phone and it is AMAZING. So is Good Riddance and Stardeep :) I wish mine would get here!! :) Jessica www.aquezada.com/jess ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jul 1999 11:47:27 -0500 From: "Jen(ni)" Subject: Emm's new CD & LRC's Hello all! With all the talk of Emm's new CD, I must ask a very silly question. Is it available every where? I've fallen in love with _Public_ all over again and can't wait to hear some new stuff. (Although it's not new to some of you!) I also can't wait to see her at the Toronto Lilith Fair in 20-some days! You know what else? I'd love to host a living room concert, (another concept I fell in love with when I first heard about them a while back on the FTE list) but no one in their right mind would come to Omaha Nebraska to do one! So I guess I'll have to live vicariously through everyone else who's lucky enough to live on the East Coast. :) - -Jenni - --- Jenni ftejenni@radiks.net | Jenni@fumblers.org | AIM - FumbleIn2U Midwest Fumblers | http://fumblers.org/MidwestFumblers Check out the talented Nina Storey | http://listen.to/NinaStorey "People talk about my image like I come in two dimensions, like lipstick is a sign of my declining mind.." | Ani DiFranco ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jul 1999 16:11:29 -0400 (EDT) From: "Julian C. I think you might have to print out an order form and send it in. > You know what else? I went in Tower Records and I see on their board that Science Fair isn't officially due to be out until Aug. 3 -- so I'll try and resist making jealousy-inducing remarks for those who didn't pre-order it from DDR (you know you've been reading too many documents at work when DDR means "Double Data Rate" to you instead of "Dead Daisy Records" :-) ) However, I must say that I am definitely loving the album! I have to resist overplaying it (to help stave that off I purchased a K's Choice CD today at CD Cat). I reiterate that I think "Revenge" is just such an awesome song. What is that instrument in the opening bars, by the way? The one that sounds kind of like a harpsichord but isn't really one...? I'm also falling in love with "Disco Lights", which is unfortunately somewhat jarring right after the mellow Paul Weller cover, but otherwise a superb song too. Anyway, enough from me, what about y'all? What do you think of Science Fair? - - Julian [ Julian C. It shows off her classically trained background. Haha, I could picture Emm wearing one of those huge dresses like in the Bach/Mozart days and playing harpsichord and singing "Revenge"!
