Dunn" Subject: science fair is here! Like Priya, I received my copy of "Science Fair" today. Of course, I love it :) James, you will be happy to see that "You Do Something To Me" is on the CD (for the rest of you folks, this is the Paul Weller cover song) The record is much, much sparser than "Public", as was expected. (It just makes seeing Emm live that much better than a studio recording) Think "Original Leap Year"-type sparseness. Even on the loud, fast songs, there aren't a million layers of instrumentation like there were on the songs off "Public". All right, I will not say anymore for fear of spoiling it for those who have not yet received their advance copies. I must say, though, that the booklet reminds me a lot of R.E.M's "New Adventures in Hi-Fi" CD booklet. The texture of the paper is the same, and it's covered in miscellaneous photos, just like R.E.M's. Also, in both cases there's not really a true picture of the artist(s). Also, when Jessica and I get our collective act together, we will be having a mailing list contest (probably some kind of Emm trivia question) and the prize will be an (autographed) copy of "Science Fair"! I'm hoping to get it all set up by the end of the weekend so those of you who didn't order advance copies can have the chance to win a copy! Stay tuned for details... - - Julian [ Julian C.
