I have never seen one of Emm's videos even though I have looked for them - e.g. Summerlong. I know that videos are expensive to make, but they are an excellent way to get the message out there. My advice to Emm and her Manager would be to make a couple of killer videos and get them out there. Attack the US market too like Melanie Doane. I would be interested in hearing what other Emm fans think. So many cool things happened I don't even remember it all... 3:00 Rannie and his cool Sunfire (equiped with Strawberry bubble tea!) picked me up...after 2 and a half hours of on and off rain and listening to a collection of the finest women in music "TOC", "OLY", "UTRAS", "FTE" and "Public" we finally arrived in Forest "Home of Emm Gryner" Ontario! Being the hot tourist town it is, we stopped to take photos by the "Forest; Population: 2 800" sign 5:30 We had another 1 and half hours to kill before we were to meet Trish at the Motorplex so Rannie and I took a tour around main street...everything was closed strangely enough on a Saturday afternoon, so we snapped a few silly photos around the library, etc...and were on our way... 6:30 We finally arrived at Ipperwash Beach (after a slight detour). We felt kind of "out of place" in our long sleeves and pants...next time we'll be prepared...Rannie left his mark in the sand tho...if anyone's around the area, look for it...:-) 7:10 Rannie and I arrive at the Motorplex. It is one strrrrange place for a concert, kinda frightening to tell you the truth. I could hear the loud roaring engines as we entered. We also discoved that the Crash Test Dummies were the headlining act. Emm wouldn't be playing a full set as we first anticipated, but that's alright. 7:30 Trish arrives in one piece :-) and as soon as we enter the gates, Rannie sees Emm coming down the stairs with some band members and Michael Murphy. Phil, Kevin and Steve were all there. ::blush:: (I have a big mouth):-P We say hello, yadda yadda yadda and everyone was on their way. The drag races were still going on and Emm wasn't to start until 9 so the three of us cruised the strip (a la Vengaboys) and headed for the beach. 8:00 The beach was really nice and quite a few people were around enjoying the weather. Rannie took more photos of Trish and all three of us scoped out the good looking guys :-) 8:45 We arrive back at the happening Motorplex and Michael Murphy was there to invite us up to the 'backstage/press box' thing. That was awesome...free food, drinks and everything! Emm was warming up her voice when we got up there. At this point, I was beginning to think that this was going to be very, very strange and surreal. 9:30 Emm finally got on stage (wooo!) and she played for about 50 minutes. Oh yeah, she was wearing an awesome Canadian flag-like tank top..."Canada's the best country in the world"...very cool! She sang 9 songs that were all awesome (imho). My favourite new one is still "Stereochrome" and I like "Good Riddance" a lot too. "Boy Races" is growing on me, but "Summerlong" would have been a better closer, I think. That song rocked, I love her whole freakin band! 10:30 The three of us make it back upstairs. Emm and the rest of the band didn't seem happy with the set, they all just sat there and stared out at the fireworks for a while. I felt bad, cuz I thought they sounded great...I don't remember exactly what happened around this time. Frank, Emm's brother (who's also very cute), came in with a friend. He was cool...at some point, we all squish into Trish's Mitsubishi and listen to the awesome "Dance with Me"...now that I think about it, what the hell was I doing in the back seat next to Emm and Michael Murphy!? I dunno how that happened but it was very very hot in there. We returned back to the press box to get our stuff. We snapped photos with all the band members and all that groupie kinda stuff...Chris the cool Motorplex guy snagged me a Crash Test Dummies autographed poster. Yeah Trish, he's cute... 12:00 An hour and a half after we had anticapted to leave, we actually do head back to the car to go home...phew...long day...I got my photos developed yesterday. They didn't turn out very well, but I'll set them up on-line as soon as I get the other roll developed and scanned... Hehe, told you! And Steve Zahn is the guitarist in "That Thing You Do!" I just saw it yesterday on VH1.
