I'm expecting this bar(The Outback in the Student Union) to be packed full of Emm's old friends or something but it wasn't like that at all. There were a lot of open booths. The night started out with Little Miss Moffat - very cool. I really liked her music and her songs were like little stories. She's only 23. She normally had a band but she was solo today. I spoke with her after the show and complimented her on her set. She was a really nice person. Emm arrives after Little Miss Moffat's set and says "Hi" to us and says she'll be out to talk to us in a few, but she didn't come out because she only had like 30 minutes before she went on. I'm assuming she was warming up. Next, was Shantih... Oh boy, where do I start? Okay, I'm secure enough in myself to say that she was a very pretty woman. I was constantly reminded of this from the 3 guys I came to the concert with!!! She had a band(guitar, bass, drums) and she played electric guitar as well. I just have to say it was pretty bad. I mean, the band was good, and she would be good, if she didn't sing! And she would talk between songs and was a total ditz - I don't know, maybe she was nervous. We talked to her after the show b/c my cousin Marc wanted her autograph and she sat with us for a while and talked while the guys drooled. I asked her where she was from because she had a funky accent and she was from London, but lived in Holland, and she's Italian, so she had a Canadian/Dutch/Italian accent - nothing I've ever heard! FINALLY!!! Emm comes on solo, plays Phonecall 45, Wisdombus, and Your Sort of Human Being. Then she tells everyone that we've come all the way from Detroit and that we've come to quite a few shows and thanks us! I said, "No, Thank YOU!" She laughs and says, "No, thank you!" Next she plays Death is a New Day(one I haven't heard live - very cool), and Julia. Then she asks if there are any requests from the Detroit table and Marc(the metal head) yells out Crazy Train, and Alvin and I say Hook Machine. She played Crazy Train, 89 Days of Alcatraz, Summerlong and Hook Machine- as per our request and said, "It's all about the table from Detroit!" and asked us how we got across the border because we were "Crazy Americans"! She followed with a Clash song(Straight to Hell?), and ended with Acid. - 11 songs. After the show, she came and sat with us and I busted out "the tape" and said she was really excited to hear it. She complimented me on my song titles! I also invited her to one of my upcoming mini-gigs and she said she'd try to make it. We talked some more but we had a long drive ahead and Alvin had to wake up early, so the night ended...
