Someone emailed me and reminded me that I never did followup on this. Part of me wasn't sure that it was supposed to be public info, so... um, I hope it's okay. The answer was Radiohead. I was the only one who guessed correctly. Though I haven't seen my prize yet ;)) j/k It was the "famous trees" that gave it away. Loved the Elvis guess, btw :) jessica n. weiser http://adam.nettfriends.com/Jess "So help me vanish. I was just wondering if anyone had worked any of this song out on guitar cause I'm trying but can't get a couple of the chords... I have a show friday and i'd like to do a cover, but... email me if you can help. thanks. :) jessica n. weiser http://adam.nettfriends.com/Jess "So help me vanish. So just in case folks, use the following (or go to the website at http://www.edge102.com ) Your email header should have lines that look like this: To: newrock@edge102.com Subject: TOP 102 OF 1998 - My three favourite cds are: Go on, vote, everyone! By the way, I finally met Kristy a couple of weeks ago and she's very cool. When I saw her first I thought "hey, Angela Chase is here." Then "oh wait - - Angela Chase is a fictional character." Anyways "Angela" went to see Rayanne at the Dead Daisy show. :-) Seriously, Kristy is a very nice person, hope to see you at more shows, Kristy! (OK I know I switched from 3rd to 2nd person midsentence - so sue me) By the way, the WOMEN AND SONGS 2 compilation featuring Emm's friend Sarah Slean came out today, check it out! Steve ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Dec 1998 19:45:34 PST From: "Tab Siddiqui" Subject: Emm in Access year-end issue... Hey, all... Emm's mentioned as one of the "Best New Canadian Acts" in Access Magazine's year-end issue (you can get it free at most music stores across Canada). There's a very punk-looking pic of her scowling into the camera beside the blurb: "Originally hailing from Sarnia, Ontario (TabNote: close, but not quite), and now making her home in Toronto, singer/songwriter Emm Gryner is perhaps Canada's most logical heir to the legacy of Alanis Morisette (TabNote: WHAT?! Ewww... I don't *think* so!). Although the subtle textures of her major-label debut Public don't allow for the kind of rage that Morissette unleashed on Jagged Little Pill, it doesn't mean that Gryner is any less intense. Just quieter. A recent Toronto showcase saw an audience of industry weasels enraptured by the diminutive twentysomething (TabNote: What, they couldn't just check her bio? Yeesh... ;))'s performance. 'Summerlong', the hit single that practically defined Candian radio in the summer of '98, is only the beginning (TabNote: As nice as that last bit is, it's simply not true. Despite heavy rotation at several radio stations across the country, 'Summerlong' never quite blew up the way it *should* have, unfortunately)." Also singled out for praise are trip-hoppers Esthero and Ottawa's Starling. Check it out. - - Tab :) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Dec 1998 23:52:22 -0500 (EST) From: 00jnweiser@bsuvc.bsu.edu Subject: EC: Emm @ . . .
