["Tab Siddiqui" Subject: (OAC) Emm on Cover mag and more... Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far... Just wanted to let those in the Toronto area know that they can pick up Cover Magazine, which features our very own homegirl Emm on the cover, at Tower Records. The photos inside are wonderful, and the interview is also great. :) Tower has a lot of great hard-to-find magazines, so while I was there, I picked up some more stuff... - - Performing Songwriter is a really great American magazine that features extensive interviews, tips, tour schedules and more on singer-songwriters. The current issue has a cover story on Liz Phair, and a delightful "how to deal with life on the road" article written by the fabulous Dar Williams. Highly recommended. - - There's been a proliferation of new magazines this year, and most of them are either pretty pretentious, boring, or awful, but a brand-new entry called 'Flaunt' caught my eye. The premiere issue features Courtney Love on the cover, and while that usually would have been enough to turn me right off, the cover is really cool - a mosiac-type shot with a double-page overlay. And while the magazine itself is pretty pretentious and the articles overblown, the photography is amazing. And I'm guessing that's what they're going for more than the written content, anyway. - - And of course, all the music rags weigh in with their year-end issues, the most enjoyable of which I think is Rolling Stone's, which has Jewel on the cover and a very nice article on her as well. Happy reading, Tab :) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 06 Dec 1998 14:59:26 -0500 From: "Julian C.
