After checking with my luthier, I've found I had the serial number wrong. The correct number is 557 858. Also, he said the color was more of an amber sunburst (that is, gradually getting darker toward the sides to a brown color) than yellow. Whatever. I do like to be precise, though, and want to do what I can to make sure everyone knows what to look for. Also, if you could forward both this and the original appeal to anyone you think could be of assistance in finding my mandolin please do so. The more eyes out there looking the better. And also, if anyone hears of a good mandolin for sale please let me know. Id like to stay with a Gibson F-model, expensive as they are, but an A will do, too. Thank you all so much for your help and kindness, and also thanks for the words of sympathy and encouragement Ive received. Everything helps. All the best, always, Steve Bornstein aka Steve Gibson P.O. Box 95 Key West FL 33041 PS: I apologize if you have received multiple messages. Some of you are on more than one list. _________________________________________________________________ Learn.Laugh.Share.
