It's showing in my area Friday 9 - 11, but you should check your local affiliate's schedule (go to pbs.org to get to your local station's website) as they vary wildly. There may also be other broadcast times. Personally, I'm glad I have a choice between two stations, as one is carrying the special and the other is showing Get Down Tonight: The Disco Explosion for the 1127th time. Here is the listing: Sting, Jill Scott, Paula Cole, Burt Bacharach, Renee Olstead, Paul Buchanan and Gladys Knight join the trumpeter in a Dec. 2, 2005, performance at the Wilshire Theatre in Los Angeles. Keep in mind Paula will probably get only one song, and also that she is not the star of the show, so don't expect too much. And I'm not too thrilled with what I've heard of Mr. Botti, and as far as I'm concerned, soft jazz is what they play in hell - and I'm thoroughly disappointed with Rolling Stone for using that as their on-hold music - but I guess I can always tape the show and sift through it later for the parts which interest me. You may wish to do the same. What little I've heard of Renee Olstead has piqued my interest, and the other guests are no slouches either (though I have not heard of Paul Buchanan), so I imagine some of this will be worthwhile. The bottom line, of course, as a harbinger member, is that I have not seen anything from Paula in a loooooooooong time so it's nice to see her get SOME airplay.
