There was nothing distinguishing or unique about Mindy or many other female singer/songwriters these days. I doubt we'll hear much of Mindy in the future. Also, Paula wasn't doing "JOLENE" for this album so I'm sure it wasn't a battle of which cover to choose. Unfortunately, there just isn't a market for singer/songwriters right now. It's a fantasy world of pop and bs. It's human nature and it's cyclical. It'll come around again. Just enjoy the music of those you are listening to now who aren't famous because once and if they make it big, it always changes and usually for the worse. That's just pop culture.
