Thank God a little controversy shows there is still some life in this list. Too bad Paula's doubleya song didn't have that kind of effect on the list that the censorship had. So is the lack of interest in a political song the fault of radio (as henley suggested) or the fault of songs that might have great intentions, but at the end of the day...they are just ok and not great? (My Hero... and George Michael's SHOOT THE DOG which had a great video, but I didn't think the point of the song really came across. (Hear it at: http://www.aegean.net click NEWS, then click SHOOT THE DOG.) I applaud Paula for the intentions behind the songs like God is Watching or My Hero...I just dont think musically or lyrically they are well written as most of her other material. Hence...they cant have the needed impact unless the song is as powerful as the emotions behind it. I still feel that if a song is fantastic, it can eventually break through. Still, I'm glad she wrote it. Shows her balls (eggs?) in writing what she feels, regardless of the consequences. She is a true artist in my opinion and I hope she can find a way to get on the radio with her next album to ensure a longer productive music life...and the support to come back to Europe on tour. :D Cheers, Finland Steven (And those of you who care (yes, those two of you!) you can check out my new song "Staring at the Ocean" at http://www.tonos.com/stevenstewart It was recorded by upcoming artist Matthew Jordan who will be featured on MTV duets in the next couple of months as the finalist in the Vanessa Carlton segment. And my song "Marilyn's Ghost" recorded by Mark Kerins (also featured on my website) has been added to Radio Kerry's playlist in Ireland last week. Gotta start somewhere, huh?) - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Btw, if you are an AOL subscriber the above instruction will work for your EVERY time.
