I got reminded of that this morning as I awoke in the Florida Keys, jumped in for a swim, piled my wet self back into the car, pointed it westward toward Key West, started scanning the radio stations, and the very first station I encountered was playing IDWTW, which I hadn't heard in I don't know how long. OK, so it's been way overplayed. There's a reason for that - it's great. The writing, arrangement, performance, production - it's great. I've been so wrapped up in other stuff as well as keeping up with more current artists that I'd forgotten about one of my favorites. I agree, with you AND with her - it's been too long for an artist of her caliber to be out of the scene. And as to the record execs who are so out of touch with the spirit of creativity that informs such music - well, maybe they SHOULD live in fear, but better yet they should stand up for inspired artists and take a chance on them.
