And I was there. She is indeed intense - she gets so into her songs that she loses herself, becoming the conduit between her muse and the listeners. And you are quite right about her eyes - you really feel like she is in direct contact with you. I saw her at a Borders once, where I found an empty seat in the front row. She worked through her set mostly right in front of me, looking right into my eyes much of the time, and these images are burned into my mind. Go to her website and sign up for notices. She comes out this way 2-3 times a year, and this is the best way to know when. I tell people about her, and say that since she comes around infrequently, I make the effort to see her when she does. It's always worth it. Peace JourneyBear _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. I specifically didn't go up and introduce myself to her before the show, and I felt as if she was talking and singing to ME the whole time. When I did go up afterwards, she said it was really strange .. because she WAS singing to me..said she was getting really good "vibes" from me, and she could tell how much I was enjoying the show. The whole band is great..and I was particularly intrigued by Cameron Stone, who is the cellist of the group. He does more than play the instrument, it is as if he truly speaks through it. I had such fun hanging with them after the show, and jay wasn't even around! I would have LOVED to have come down to NY to see them, but it was nice to live the show through you. I'm SO proud of Jay, and i'm so glad he found a great girl like donna to share his life with :) paulaR - ----- Original Message ----- From: Michael Kleinert To: Sent: Friday, September 01, 2000 3:05 AM Subject: (harbinger) Re: Donna Delory > I really owe you guys many many thanx. Has anyone noticed the similarity in the message that is coming across in comparison to "Be Somebody"? It's the similar in the sense that it's a white girl singing about the ghetto. Lyrics from "Make It Happen".... "Not more than 3 short years ago, I was abandonded and alone, without a penny to my name..." Anyway, I found it a little amusing. If you listen to the whole song, the message is similar, Mariah's is just a little catchier. I'm wondering if Paula is a closet Mariah fan. All the way down to the bird calls that they both can do. Anyway, that's all. Later, B __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! I can hardly believe I haven't seen her once in the year since last year's EctoFest - which was the first time. Got to get her out and about more often. Anyone want to step up and be her tour manager/booking agent? Brief news flash: After seven months JourneyBear the Van is finally up and running - rough but running - so I may get to actually go everywhere I wanted this weekend. Don't want to jinx it with details at this point - tell ya later. Have a fine holiday everyone!
