I am often on NAPSTER at about 11pm-2am California time (I am in Finland. My folks live in CA, so that is the only time zone I know.) I leave it on while I work. I don't know how much I support NAPSTER for things you can buy, but really like it to find unreleased stuff. I don't offer my entire collection of rare Paula Cole stuff or any album stuff. But I do have a few remixes and have posted the Austrailian Amen bonus stuff since that disk is a little difficult to come by. Look for fakefinn or do a search for Paula Cole late at night and you may get lucky. I love that song and never have seen the video. I can't say it relates much to the song, in my mind that is, but I'm enjoying it anyway.....Thanks again Terri - --- Brian C wrote: > Hey Everyone, > > If you've never seen the video for "I Am So Ordinary", > you can watch it here: > > > You'll need Windows Media Player to watch it. > > Hope you all are having a good weekend. > > -Bri Bri > > > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Subject: (harbinger) Paula - Live on World Cafe Did anyone else happen to catch Paula and the band on World Cafe Friday night? They put on an excellent show. I didn't even know there going to be a live show. I just happened to turn on the radio when I got home from work and all of a sudden I heard the announcer say that Paula Cole was coming up live at Indre Studios. A few minutes later, David Dye introduced her and she opened with "Jolene." After that, she sat down for a short interview and then the rest of the show was just live songs. They did "Be Somebody," "I Believe In Love," "Mississippi" and "Feelin' Love." What a great show! "Mississippi" and "Feelin' Love" were definitely the highlights of the show. Paula was wailing and the guitar work was so cool on both songs. Doug Wimbish was throwing in these weird noodly sounds on "Mississippi" that almost turned the song into some kind of danse macabre piece. Paula did some unusual beatbox work at the end of "Feelin' Love." Basically, it was a barrage of rhythmic panting. That coupled with several well-placed coos and moans made for an especially erotic rendition of the song that ended with a wail the like of which I haven't heard come out of her since she cut loose with one at the end of "La Tonya" during the Bowery B'room show. I think it's definitely working to the audience's advantage (in a certain sense) that Amen isn't flying off the shelves. I suppose some musicians might let it affect their shows in a negative manner, but for someone like Paula, I think that scenario only goads her on into performing harder and better. She's really singing for her supper now. That kind of impetus can definitely force one back upon one's deep down wells of strength, talents and courage. Looks like all that is coming out in the music. I hope others got to hear this show. Sometimes World Cafe replays shows, but it does usually take a while (sometimes months or years) for it to come around again. If you did hear the show, what did you think about it?
