I know she'd mentioned doing a jazz project (besides guesting on Call Me Irresponsible) but I didn't know if anybody'd heard what kind of flavor this one would have. Has she ever said much about particular jazz influences? I know I've heard Chet Baker and Aretha Franklin, but I don't believe I've heard anything else. One side note--sorry about this b/c I don't want to seem like this big egotistical freak, but I wanted to let you know I now have a popup free Paula website. The long URL for this is: www.crosswinds.net/~mermaidcafe/paula/paula.html I'll redirect the V-3 URL there too; that one is http://welcome.to/bethlehem. Yeah, this used to be on Geosh*tties but I got so sick of advertisting ginsus and dinette sets that I stopped updating for a while. But now it's safe. :) And an album recommendation: I know we've discussed CryCryCry a lot on here, along w/ Jonatha Brooke, etc. so I wanted to recommend the compilation "Bleecker Street." It has CryCryCry, Jonatha, Suzanne Vega, Patty Larkin, John Cale, and many more on it, singing old folk songs. I'd also give a thumbs up to Lucy Kaplansky's album "Ten Year Night." Jennifer Kimball and Richard Shindell do backing vocals and it's a great disc altogether...Natalie Merchant and Dar Williams have been performing songs from it recently, IIRC. OK, that's really it for now. Take care!!
