This is GREAT news! This is such a good album, and may come to be a watershed collection, earning a place in history. It is actually a double disc, and most of the artists on it bring it to their shows, where you can get it for only $15. It is a great introduction to many of the best female singer/songwriters around Boston and throughout MA, and has led me to check out many of them. Some of the songs on it are unavailable elsewhere, including something new from Jules Verdone, and a live solo cut from Melissa Ferrick on which she literally turns on the tape, counts it off, and nails it - while the engineer is taking a break! Patty has the leadoff cut, "Angel Wings," one of the few songs that directly addresses the issue of domestic violence. Curiously, she was not included in the photo sessions, a fact which surprised her when I asked her about it. She was probably busy touring - she is the biggest name/hardest-working artist on the album, after all. A lot of the artists have been performing at "Respond Benefit Showcases" - typically three or four of them, combining their fan bases you know - and there will be some at Falcon Ridge and Newport Folk Festivals. If this goes national it would likely inspire others on other cities to do the same. Maybe someday they'll even tour Australia!! Peace JourneyBear HI all Forwarding something from the Patty Larkin list. NO Paula content, but this should be of interest to fans of female singer/songwriters. This really is a wonderful album, which is a continuing source of delight. The more I listen to it the more I like it, the more I learn. Plus it benefits a worthy cause.
