I knew the name rang a bell. Thanks for keeping us posted. She (and band) are also playing at this year's Fleadh in Boston (6/19) and NY (6/26), at least. Enormous lineups - four stages - including Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, John Prine, Martin Sexton, Moxy Fruvous, etc, etc, etc. Plus in New York only, Lucinda Williams and Susan McKeown, and Boston only, John Lee Hooker. Check out the site (www.guinnessfleadh.com) for the whole lineup, including Chicago and San Francisco dates. I know Van Morrison is there somewhere. Plus a little known band O'Hootie & McBlowfish. 'Course these ain't free . . . And if anyone wants to hear how great violin can sound in a rock context, check out Deni Bonet. She plays Arlene Grocery (NY) once a month. And that's free. She is a fine singer and clever, witty songwriter as well. She will also be at the Clearwater Festival 6/18-19 (www.clearwater.org) Peace JourneyBear Thou hast scriven thusly: > >Just a quick note to let those of you in the NYC area know that Eileen >Ivers will be performing at OnStage at the Twin Towers on July 1st at 7:00 >p.m. The OnStage series are *FREE!!* concerts held in the central >courtyard of the World Trade Center complex in lower Manhattan. > >I saw Eileen and her band at the Guinness Fleadh last year and they were >great.
