You are the first to post this. HOWEVER, unless you reckon things differently down under, the 24th is a Saturday! And I don't think you meant Wed the 14th either, as that was yesterday and there was no musical guest. There's no listing for Paula through next week either - that's as far into the future as the Conan site goes. I'm perplexed ;-) I did notice that VH-1 is running a "Best of Hard Rock Live #7" midnight (Eastern time) Saturday, including songs by Ani DiFranco, The Pretenders, and Natalie Merchant, among others. Hey, as an Aussie, maybe you know what's going on with Margot Smith? Is she touring, is her new-ish album getting airplay, etc etc? You can e me directly so as not to bore the entire list with off-topic stuff. Thanks for the mention of Margot Smith on the list, if anyone has not heard of her she is SO wonderfully talented and her sophmore effort was released last year on Phantom Records in Australia. She is kinda dark in style and really catchy and looking to invade the USA this year. I first ran across her in 1996 and fell instantly in love with her song 'Adored' that was released in 1993's debut CD entitled "Sleeping with the Lion". I hate to say it but her management team is not doing a real good job in promoting her music with only small gigs in a few places in Australia including the Esplanade Hotel. To anyone who likes to hear new and upcoming musicians I would highly recommend that you check out her website at www.margotsmith.com it is a decent site and you can download audio as well as video clips from the site. Also if anyone is interested in getting their hands on her CD you can order it from musicblvd.com as well as from Phantom. Just click on the order icons on the website and be sure and let them know with email if you would like to see Margot perform in your area as I know they are working on assembling a US tour sometime this fall. Only two dates are listed now and those are both costal dates. If you order a copy of the CD from Phantom direct tell em Zia MiChelle sent you. To email them regarding a possible show location do so at: TheGoodFolks@phantom.com.au and let em know you are behind her talent coming to a localation near you. Thanks for your time Zia MiChelle Also I am working on a Margot site at http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stadium/7715/ - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger That's the way to unsub even for poor, benighted AOL users. Paula Cale plays the sister (Joanie) on the new NBC TV show, "Providence." FWIW, I get confused every week when I see the credits, getting excited that our Paula might be making a guest appearance. :-) Also FWIW, the theme song for "Providence" is performed by Chantal Kreviazuk...not that that has anything to do with Paula, but I figured some of y'all might be interested. :) Dave, publicly admitting he watches "Providence"...it's a guilty pleasure. :) - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger That's the way to unsub even for poor, benighted AOL users. That was an easy mistake. Would have been great, though. I was just about turning cartwheels to see Paula on Conan right now. Figured she might be going on to do a special appearance to publicize the upcoming release. Maybe she'd do a new song. That's what I was thinking anyway. I even started preparing my excuse for calling out sick that day to attend the taping. ;^) Guess I'll save the sick day for later. As a consolation prize, however, another great female musician WILL be appearing on Conan soon -- May 7th, to be exact. One of my favorites - Patty Griffin - will perform live. She must have a new release coming off _Flaming Red_. "Change" has already been released. Wonder what it'll be? Any know? Peace. I believe "Blue Sky" will be released later this month. It's definitely radio-friendly, IMO, and should do well as the weather continues to improve toward summer. :) I'm sure that's what Patty's people are hoping anyway. For those who haven't heard of Ms. Griffin, do check her out! She rocks with the best of them, then breaks your heart and enters your soul with her acoustic sound. She's also one of my faves, Kenn... ObPaula: Was driving home today (with the sun roof open...yay!) and popped "This Fire" into my new CD player and *cranked* the first three songs. I had forgotten how much I love this CD, and now that I'm not sick of WHATCG any more, I can listen with no reservations. :) Dave - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger That's the way to unsub even for poor, benighted AOL users.
