If one was interested in putting together a demo package to send to prospective record companies, what should it contain? How many songs? Photos? What should go in the bio? Thanx for any insight you can offer. Any press clippings, articles written about the artist, live reviews and record reviews. A cover letter addressed to a specific person at the record company stating who the artist is, why the demo package is being submitted, and why the demo should be listened to. Before sending anything to a record company it is a good idea to call or write first to get permission to send material. Unsolicited mail is usually either refused or thrown away, at least at major labels, independents might be a bit friendlier. There are several web sites that address this same topic. indiecenter.com, halsguide.com (which has song great links) might be helpful. Good Luck. - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger That's the way to unsub even for poor, benighted AOL users.
