Hawkins Hey all out there....sorry for the multiple crossposts.....I really am!!! I, a member of the cracker army, and organization started by the artist Sophie B. Hawkins (As I Lay Me Down, Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover) to help release the album Timbre from Sony because of artistic differences, would like to ask a favour of all of you. This is the favour: For the past three years, the album Timbre (Sophie's third release), has been delayed for multiple reasons. One of these reasons is the fact that Whaler, her second release, was not highly popular within the U.S. (with the exception of As I Lay Me Down). Another reason is the use of the banjo on the song Lose Your Way, a proposed single. Sony has decided that the banjo is not commercial enough to make it high on the charts, and they demanded that Sophie re-record the song using a guitar. This is against artistic freedom. Sophie B. Hawkins has also created a documentary film of her life, which she would like to have released to the public, to help support the new album. She can't release the documentary without releasing the album, otherwise the film The Cream Will Rise will not support the album. Sophie would also like to help nature and environmental causes. What all the Sophie fans across the world would love to see Sophie B. Hawkins on Oprah, expressing all of these things to help the cause of releasing the album, the film, and to help her environmental causes. If you would all please E-mail Oprah (www.oprah.com) expressing the fact that you would like to help Sophie with her causes, we at alt.music.sophie-hawkins would greatly appreciate it.
