["Erin Martin" ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 19 Dec 1998 19:33:51 -0500 From: "Erin Martin" Subject: (harbinger) Bethlehem guitar tab here! Hi! For those of you who have wanted more "Harbinger" guitar tabs, etc.--you're in luck! I got my guitar teacher to transcribe Bethlehem (of course, what else?!) for me yesterday. I just brought in the Diffidence bootleg w/ the traveling road show version b/c you can hear the guitar better in it. Here's what he came up with. standard tuning I think there's more than one guitar, but what I have sounds good by itself... For all chord fingerings, just assume that I used EADGBe as the order. Intro: (same as chorus) The chords you use are A, E, E/F#,E,D/E,C#/E,D/E,E The important thing when strumming is to really let the high e,b,g,and d strings ring out. They are more emphasized than the bass notes in the song. Finger the A chord normally(x02220), then play the E chord just as xx1200. Add in the F#, to make that 2x2100,then make it a regular E of 022100. Slide down to the D/E, fingered as x5x450.Move to the 4th fret on the A-string so that becomes x4x450, and move back to the x5x450. Move to the second fret on the D-string for an E chord, which makes this xx2450. So the patterns look kind of like this: A:x02220 E:xx2100 E/F#:2X2100 E:022100 D/E:X5X450 C#/E:X4X450 D/E:X5X450 E:XX2450 The verse chords are: A, D/E, F#/E,E,D/E Use the same fingerings as above, but for the E chord, use 0x2100. I haven't really fooled with how many times you repeat this pattern for the verse or anything; I'd recommend just listening to the song and playing along with it to get a better feel of that. A:x02220 D/E:X5X450 E/F#:2X2100 E:0x2100 D/E:X5X450 Okay, I think that does it. Let me know if you have any questions on this. Happy playing!
