I know this is not list related but I had to share this with you. I have done some wild and crazy things in my youth. Everything from diving off a 70 foot bridge to doing a handstand on and repelling down a 400' radio tower. But I am 40 now and have kids. (somehow having kids made me realize that I wasn't indestructible. Imagine that! We went to Kings Island. Had a great time. but..... They have a 250 foot arch they hang cables from and behind it they have a 150' tower. They strap you in a harness hanging from the arch and pull you backwards and up to the top of the 150' tower. When you get there they tell you to pull the release cord. (Yeah right!) It's a good thing I went with someone that has been before and they pulled it. I am not sure I could have pulled it. You drop quickly and then start swinging forward until you reach about 70 MPH at the bottom. It really looks like you are going to keep going forward and into the crowd and buildings in front of you, but then you start going up again. Yes, you are about 100 feet hanging over the spectators. So if anyone decided to hurl or wet themselves the crowd would get a lot more than they bargained for. What a rush. Most of it was kinda dream like. Like when you screw up really bad and fall down the stairs and know that something bad is about to happen. Kinda slow motion. Your mind is saying half this is a blast and half I made a big mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not want to do it cause it is not cheap about $25 but my wife talked me into it cause she knows how much I like to stuff like that, (almost gave a lunch aid in high school a heart attack diving out of the rafters in the gym head first into the high jump pits. You know how they do it in the movies where they tuck their head under at the last second and land on their back) Anyway, when I got down she was in tears and the kids ( I have 3 young boys) clung to me like octapi. Was it worth it? Yes!!!!! Would I do it again? Yes!!!!!!!! Should you try it? Yes! Thanks for listening. Please! You haven't even heard the question yet! Ok I am going to get tickets for that matchbox 20/Paula Cole concert in Concord in September. basically the only reason i wanted to go was hear paula (and ok hear that real world song by matchbox 20, it's enjoyable to me) but what my question is, Is paula just opening up for them? Meaning, is she playing an abbreviated set or is she like a special guest appearing with matchbox 20 and playing a longer and thus more enjoyable set for my friends and i? Thanks to the person that answers! and while we're on the subject, is it general seating? cause i'm assuming the concord Pavilion is big and has grass like shoreline...are there going to be seats? (i'm willing to spend the money for 2 people, sheryl crow and paula cole! No i'm not insane....) katie http://student.monterey.edu/stohlmannkatheri/world - ------------------------------ Harbinger Public Service Announcement: Emergency contraceptives are methods of preventing pregnancy *after* unprotected sexual intercourse. Paula is being billed as the "special guest" for this one. I don't know if that means that Paula gets more time on stage or not but the last show my wife and I attended also had a "special guest" and the "guest" played for an hour-and-a-half. Originally, they were going to give her a fair amount of time, but as of the Paula show last week in Detroit, Phil said she's just opening for M20 and probably won't get to do a long set. Hopefully this will change, as we were gonna fly down to Fla. to catch a couple shows there, but we're having second thoughts since it's gonna cost us some bucks and it's not alot of Paula.
