i'd say this is good advice. i've been lucky enough to meet paula twice, and
it's
because i waited around by the buses for a while. ;)  i think that's a good
rule
of thumb. where there are buses, there are musicians. just be polite and don't
push. if they want to talk to you, they will. and be able to take "no" for an
answer,
because there are plenty of times when i've wanted a photo of someone and i've
been told "no photos". you endear yourself by being polite and patient, NOT
pushy.

i also find that bringing gifts gives you something to talk about with a
musician
should you get nervous and not be able to say what you want/feel. gee, i don't
*ever* do that....<nervous laugh>

yeah, phil is such a sweetie. i was fortunate to have dinner with phil before
the
cincinnati show and we had a nice chat. you listers should definitely try to
find
him. he's way cool. :)

good point, jill. sometimes it's hard to remember that, but it's a very good
point.
these musicians, like paula, have sometimes been on the road for *years* and
i'm sure they burn out after a while. while we (the fans) can be a source of
encouragement, we can also be a bit of a nusiance. it's definitely good to
think
before you walk up and ask for an autograph or something. but most celebs i've
met have been so gracious, including the lovely paula.

btw - i made an ass of myself when i met her tuesday night. i gave her my
beloved greek cross necklace and kinda squeezed her hand and told her i 
wanted her to have it, since she'd inspired me so much. what i *wanted* to 
say was that she and her songs had given me so much hope...but i didn't.
argh.

anyway....it was great fun. thanks for hanging out with me, jill and bob! :)

necklace than she was of the two glowsticks that I forgot to give
her......when i had told her I that I giving them to her.....

Hi!  I'm relatively new to the list though relatively old to the wonder
of Paula's music. I tried posting this before but I think it somehow got
encoded, so I'm sorry if you all get this twice.  I'm working on
building a website for Paula right now and I have a few questions I'm sure
you all could shed some light on for me. First, does Paula have a Native
American heritage or does she just strongly support their cause?  Between
"Our Revenge" and her apparel on Sarah's edition of Storytellers, I'm not
sure.  Secondly, does anybody have any tabs for Harbinger other than "Watch
the Woman's Hands"?  I'd love to have them for my site as well as personal
enrichment, so let me know if you do please.  I would especially love
"Bethlehem".Feel free to drop me a line if there is something that you want
to see on a Paula site so I can put it on mine for you...and whoever is the
possessor of any Paula bootlegs--we need to talk.:)  Sorry for such a
labyrinthian message, but thank you very much for your help on any of this!
