I just got back from an awsome time at the Phx lilith fair. I was so stoked when i found out that Liz Phair was gonna sign autographs after her set. I booked it over to the tower records tent grabbed "whip smart" and waited in line for about an hour. Finally someone came out and said she couldn't make it because she "had to take a more important phone call." I was really dissapointed. Plus i missed Erykah Badu AND K's choice. Luckily, K's Choice was signing autographs, so as long i was there i had them sign my shirt. Natalie Merchant was way cool. She dances and spins around in a very paula-esue maner. She's adorable Sarah was so awesome. She sang "Posession" and "Elsewhere" - the two songs i was hoping to hear. For her encore she sang "adia" and then everyone came out and sang "What's Goin' On". Make sure you see the butterfly lady. She's really nice and she'll fix your hair in a funky fairy 'do if you buy a clip (or even if you don't if ya ask really nice. I bought 2 ladybug hair pins for $6. Way cute. Dispite the heat i had a SUPER Fab time. We had great seats (for lawn seats...) and the time between sets was so short. I was impressed with how quickly the crew changed the sets. The really had it together. I'd suggest getting there pretty early. We arrived a little after 2 and the gates opened at 3. That way we parked close to the gate and sat close to the 'spensive seats. They hand out a lilith fair sampler cd, and i'm pretty sure they ran out, so try and grab one as you come through the gate if you get there early enough. The levi's poster of sarah went quickly too-it's really cool, but her make-up is funky. I had such a great time. It's one of the funnest concerts ever. Too bad, no Paula though... The first one is to be shown 6/30 at 8PM Eastern with the II version following at 9PM. Paula was included in a clip for the first Before They Were.... I believe. So I guess we all have to tune in to both.
