My advice to you is that since you are about to visit the Tuscany region of Italy which is in my opinion one of the more beautiful regions in the world and that except for Opera, if you are into it, the live music scene is not all that exciting, I would suggest you bring a walkman with some Paula music and whatever else you enjoy (I would also bring some Pavoratti and Grateful Dead) get a car or hop on a train and see the countryside, visit some hill towns (Siena is one of my favorites), and since you'll be in the Chianti region drink plenty of the local red wines and eat their food. If you can get to Florence be sure to check out Michelangelo's "David" at the Acadamia museum. I found it quite an amazing sight to behold. I STRONGLY suggest you make the effort to do this while you are there because you can hear and see good music when you get back to the States but you may never be in that area of Italy again and you should take advantage of this opportunity. Chaio and enjoy. Some good tips, to be sure. I will probably not have enough money in my budget to rent a car, but my brother may have one. He's spent half the year there for ten years or more, so he surely knows the countryside well. He's a little square, though, and probably not clued in to the local music scene - thus, my post. I guess what I'm looking for is either a tip on an Italian band or artist, or a tour date in Italy by someone we love. Does anyone know a website where you can look up gigs around the world? I will probably leave my Discman at home, just so I can take a break from all the fabulous music here, hoping to hear something new in the process. Of course, I will be perfectly happy to sit at a cafe nibbling on biscotti, sipping espresso - - or vino rosso or grappa - but if there's a talented street musician that would add to the experience. As much as I'd like to bring along my mandolin and show them how we do it here in America, I'm more interested in seeing what they've got to offer - besides opera! Thanks again for the input. I am working feverishly to get the site updated and in the best looking condition I can. I think most anyone can tell you I have put a lot into the site and into Paula herself. From the website to #Paula_Cole on IRC's DALnet I have spent hours upon hours creating the most effective ways of promotion in cyberspace. I am proud of Paula and all of her accomplishments so far and I truly enjoy the work that goes into making the UnOfficial WebSite what it has come to be. I don't know how many people would take as much time to put up a website for themselves let alone to put up a page dedicated to a musician but if you stop by my Paula site and have a look around you will find the dedication and love for Paula that has gone into the site. If you haven't been by the page I extend to you the warmest welcome and ask that you please sign the guestbook. I am going to be adding more and more as the summer rolls along and as more becomes available. I would love to get feedback as to how the pages look...what you the fans wanna see next...but, most of all I would love to get some reviews from this summers shows. I work full-time so making a lot of shows is almost impossible for me now. Last year I managed to see Paula 2 times during Lilith Fair and it was the most awesome and impactive concert I have ever been to in my life. More exciting than being onstage with the Rev Horton Heat even and that was MEGA cool. Anyways more exciting things are happening at my site so I hope to see more guestbook entries and some reviews coming up soon. Kenn and Joel I especially hope to see you leaving me some impressive posts on past shows, upcoming shows and just general posts. There is a visitor book as well as a separate review book. The review book is dedicated to the many fans who for some reason are not able to witness Paula live. I think that is the best dedication from one fan to another-- the gift of the rush from witnessing a live show. :) Anyways that is all for tonight....the site is http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Studio/9346/ Once again.... "It's Me...."
