I will have to look into a couple of those! What album is Ani diFranco's "Independence Day" on? These are songs that move me. Most of them have been released in the last five years and I got a lot of the recommendations from this list. Thanks guys! How nice to have people I have never met be able to influence my life in a positive manner. But before I begin...a personal plug...our band just finished our new demo. I am really proud of the song "Only My Soul." I have an mp3 file on my web page of the entire song. It may take a little while to download, but it is close to cd quality. Anyway, I had a hard time making it through the song. The performance isn't perfect, but it is from the heart. To hear it, go to: www.geocities.com/~fakefinn and choose either the "Lyrics" link and find the song "Only My Soul" or choose the "Music" link. Back to the topic...these aren't in any order... "Me", "She Can't Feel....", "Ordinary", "Happy Home"...Paula. (Harbinger is an amazing emotional catharsis!) "fall from grace" (live piano only version) "fear" (jane's violin mix with the low vocals) "elsewhere" (with paula cole from the Storytellers bootleg cd)-Sarah McLachlan "adam & eve" October Project (bought this album on a recommendation from this list and I love it.) "let him fly" Patty Griffith (Heard this on the Lilith sampler...Kenn recommended the whole album. Thank God I listened to him!) "tear in your hand" tori amos (lots of "Little Earthquakes" moves me. I think that album has some of her best and most songwriting...I am glad to see her new album return a little more to that lyrical style.) "If I Told You" "So Much Mine" "Angel in the House" Jonatha Brooke and the Story (another recommendation I got from this list. I have become a huge fan of Jonatha's writing.) "miracle of mercy" "when you are a soldier" Steven Curtis Chapman "st. cloud" "down on my knees" "hearts in armour"Trisha Yearwood (Trisha rocks. Don't let the fact that she is "country" throw you. She has more in common with old Linda Rondstant. How many other country artists would cover a melissa etheridge song (you can sleep while I drive)? ) "love's recovery" indigo girls Thanks again for all of your recommendations! "I have been working nonstop for two years," Crow later said in a statement released by her label, A&M. "I need some time at home to regroup." In the last six months alone, Crow has headlined her own tour, and opened for the likes of the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. She's also managed to put in some studio time, laying down tracks for a new album, the follow-up to 1996's Sheryl Crow, which should be out this fall. At press time, there was no word on who would replace Crow for the five Lilith dates. Sheryl Crow's scheduled Lilith Fair performances June 20¯The Gorge, George, Wash.
