I know this info is out there, I just don't always look. Occasionally SNL has shown alternate performances. The classic example was Joan Osborne, who was on back when musical guests got two songs. Her second one got bumped cos the show ran long, and she (and fans) got pissed. When they repeated that show they ran both songs! And of course the repeat of Sinead O'Connor 's appearance uses the rehearsal footage of her tearing up a photo of a baby, not the pope. So I was hoping they might run a different song - they did not. And yes, the "Basted in Blood" song was hilarious! I must have been out the night this first ran and hadn't seen it before. Ana Gasteyer is going to "do" her Cinder Calhoun character at the first few Lilith Fairs, FWIW. And thanks for the post re: Sheryl Crow/Gillian Welch on Sessions - I missed that one. Gillian is excellent - kind of post-modern hillbilly music, as if she stepped out of the hills of Appalachia from the fifties but with a modern sensibility. She and pardner David Rawlings were one of the hits of last year's Newport Folk Festival. She will be at the Green River Festival in Greenfield MA 7/17, as well as Cheri Knight, country/rock singer-songwriter and flower farmer, and these two will blow away the headliners, Koko Taylor and Nathan and the Zydeco ChaCha's. You can find more info from fccc@crocker.com. Neither of them play very frequently and they're worth checking out. Well, gotta tear myself away from the tube and get outside on this lovely, brisk spring day! My name is Steven LeVine, I'm 16/m from Freehold, NJ! I am not really a "Paula trendy" but Where Have all the cowboys gone, and I Dont want to wait kinda made me buy This Fire. Well...it started, where I heard WHATCG, and I bought the 2 singles, the remix and the regular one. Then..in the summer my cousin brought me a tape and it had I dont want to wait, before it was released I guess, or that same week. I loved it. Also...I saw Lilith fair on vh1, they were there, and showing clips and I saw Throwing Stones, and LOVED IT! I thought it was soo powerful, how she was pounding on the piano.Well..in August I listened to the cd, and only liked those 3 songs, but knowing me, I usually love the cd after a couple weeks, or less, so I bought it. It happened, I loved it. Then....in the fall, October I guess, maybe November I bought Harbinger, and loved it. I also have a bootleg of hers from Baden Baden, so I am not really a Paula trendy. My favorite singer is Alanis Morissette, and I also love... Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, Meredith Brooks, Garbage, Tracy Bonham, No Doubt, Marilyn Manson, Fiona Apple, Veruca Salt, Sneaker Pimps, Billie Myers,Chantal Kreviazuk, Lisa Loeb, and other singers from that great thing Sarah created- LILITH FAIR-I WANNA GO!, and I trade bootlegs also. I guess thats all, :) STEVE P.S.- On the alanis list, people have been flaming me for capping my name, they think I'm screaming it, or sound egotistical, but I just like to put it in caps, that simple, so please dont flame me. Worst piece of crap I've ever seen. Crashed all over the place. Crashed booting up. Crashing shutting down. Crashed opening programs. Crashed closing programs. Next few days of mail lost. Then found out that Windows 98 coverts the hard drive to a new FAT that you cannot convert back from. Massive nightmares converting back to Windows 95, which also involved formatting the hard drive and losing whatever mail I had downloaded while using Windows 98. Also found out that Outlook98 and Outlook Express are wretched email programs. Well, not wretched. Lots of features and great *looking* programs. Unfortunately, they also play fast and loose with email headers and really screw up list posts. Messages from the list show up From: the poster, and To: the list, but show up in Outlook as From: the list, or From: the list on behalf of the poster, without any real way to get to the contents of the message's real From: line. Maybe useful for people that don't have lists to worry about, but geez...the messages come with headers provided, why mess with them? Exposure to the latest Microsoft internet applications has me looking for a good linux distribution... Anway, any mail anyone sent me for the last two weeks is trashed, I have no idea what has been going on with the list, and even mail sent to me privately is gone. (In other words...Tim, I need your address again.) The only thing I'm happy about is that I had CD-ROM with Netscape 4 on it, and am back in business.
