I'd love to meet up with any Harbingers in the area. Also, I'd love to get my hands on any Paula videos that are going out there. I haven't been able to find any here. So, is anyone game and where can I get my mits on Paula vidoes? Cheers Me :-) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Reality is a crutch for the unimaginative. It was a wonderful night at the Paradise with many good performances. The final outcome was..................Laurie Geltman and Melissa Ferrick!!!!!!! will be playing the Lilith Fair Village stage at Great Woods. Hope all is well. >> I'm glad to see that Melissa Ferrick finally gets her 15 minutes of fame at Lillith Fair... if I remember correctly last year, in several interviews she gave supporting her record, she was angry that she had not been picked to join the tour... for some reason, every time i listen to her, i think of what Ani's Difranco's less talented little sister must sound like... but i still dig her :) Still wondering if i can get Spice Girl tickets for Blossom Music Center before they sell out in 10 minutes or less... The only thing after the Peter Gabriel footage was the video for Ordinary. We talked to Mark (Brown--her bassist) after the show and he said that was the first night they tried the footage after the show! Aren't we lucky?!? It was great... especially her rendition of "I Enjoy Being A Girl" (yes, the Gilbert and Sullivan song!). Mark said the only problem is that the club owners aren't too keen on having people hanging around to watch it. He said that they are thinking of playing the family footage during Bethlehem and/or Happy Home, which really makes more sense anyway, then the stuff after the show won't be so long. We looked for you, Spanish, before, during, and after the show, but we didn't see you! *shrug* Good to hear that you were there, though! And gone are the days of waiting after the show to talk to Paula! The local radio station gave away several backstage passes for an after-show meet-&-greet... and I really wanted my little sister to get to meet Paula, but where there used to be 5 or 10 people waiting, there were more like 20 to 50! And since we knew there was no way she could stop and meet and sign stuff for that many people, and Mark said she had an Australian radio telephone interview to do after leaving the venue, we figured we might as well just leave. Mark also said that this Grammy thing has totally changed Paula's life. People recognize her now more than ever, and she can hardly even go out to lunch with a friend without paparazzi following or fans (or just people who recognize her) bothering her. I can't believe she's come this far. I only wish this concert in Pittsburgh hadn't been cancelled twice before the Grammy's 'cos my sister hasn't gotten to meet her yet... *sigh* But anyway, the show was fantastic.. She just keeps getting better! And thank god/dess she did "La Vie En Rose" because she hasn't been in our neck of the woods since she started doing it and even though she was performing it at the time we saw her in Myrtle Beach, many of you will recall our awful experience there... Paula was sick, and the crowd was awful, so she didn't do it. But she did it this time! It was well worth the 6-hour trek from Michigan!
