What with the house being built and my being a die hard Red Sox fan, I keep dumping the kids on wonderful hubby, who in turn hasn't complained but is trying to work on the house, so for me, it's a last minute decision. Also depends on what kind of a commitment I have for Sat. night. (you know, the weekly going to dinner with friends thing) But I'll make a decision by Friday and let y'all know. Oh, and direction should be able to be had by going to WBOS.com, they are the radio station sponsoring this thingy. After talking with the owner of smoe.org and us agreeing that there's been a lot of duplication of posts and info concerning Lilith Fair on many different lists, we've decided to create one list where people can discuss Lilith Fair, ask questions concerning venues, prices, vendors, hooking up at Lilith Fair, asking for directions to various fairs, posting updates concerning dates and artists performing, discussing products available at Lilith Fair, etc. etc. Basically, your one-stop Lilith Fair info and discussion shop. To subscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: subscribe lilith-fair-fans =or= subscribe lilith-fair-fans-digest if you prefer the digest version. When you sub you will receive a long file giving all the dates and venue information so far. The list is for both news and discussion concerning Lilith Fair. It also is a fan-run list and has no official relationship or endorsed relationship with Lilith Fair, Sarah or Nettwerk. I went to see Paula at the Community Theater in Morristown NJ... Not only was the venue small and intimate, it's about 5 minutes from my house, which is very convenient for me... =) And not only did Merrie Amsterburg open but I got to speak to her before and after the show... Not only was Paula phenomenal, but she did a NEW SONG!!! And not only did I think my seats were bad, they were actually 7th row! But before I get that, I have to mention Merrie... So I get there and see Merrie setting up her guitar - so I go over and say hello... I've really gotten into her CD after hearing her a few months ago on Mountain Stage (a radio broadcast)... So I was very excited to see her set too... She played 9 songs: Great Divide Lay Of The Land *New Song* World Of Our Own Making Belonging This Will Never Be My Year Say Goodbye Lucky One Waiting She was accompanied by another man on guitar... She switched on and off with her electric guitar, her mandolin and bouzouki... People were talking through her set but that's OK... I spoke to her after the show too and she said at tomorrow's show she'll be with her full band... Yay! So Paula came out about 20 minutes later wearing a black halter like shirt and black pants with a furlike coat over it - she looked really beautiful... Her set was as followed: Suwannee Joe (took fur like thing off) Happy Home Throwing Stones (after which she put her foot up on the piano which made her mic fall and not work - it was quickly replaced) (The lights were very cool during this song, bright white lights flickered on when she sang, "Liar") Mississippi Feelin Love (after Kevin's guitar solo she introduced him and sang a bit of it too, which was pretty funny: "Yeah, Yeah, Kevin, Kevin on guitar...") Me Where Have All The Cowboys Gone Band Introduction Road To Dead Bethelehem Tiger I Am So Ordinary (crowd was very respectful and didn't "Wooo" during it =) Free (NEW SONG) ("This is a little something special because we can only play the same goddamn set every single night we're on tour - so we're unveiling a new song right now and it's called, "Free") (Favorite line: "It can be lonely next to you...") Hitler's Brothers Carmen I Don't Want To Wait (during the middle of the song she invited people to get out of their seats and get closer to the stage) Jolene Le Vie En Rose (in wig and boa) Afterwards, they showed home movies of Paula - old plays it looked like, they also showed "Don't Give Up" from the Peter Gabriel tour... I went and said hello to Phil who I've recognized at every Paula show I've seen - but never knew it was him... So I said hello and then left... =) All in all it was an excellent show - but then again, it IS Paula... =) Well, I'm off to see her tomorrow night in NYC at the Beacon and I must mention again, I have FRONT ROW and CENTER seats... Well, goodnight to all... Anyone interested in hearing the show I just reviewed (wink), do let me know... Cheers! See you all tomorrow who's going!
