Thanks, Terry. That's really kind of you to say. :^) > Any chance of catching up with you for one of these? The only shows I'm planning to attend in the near future are the Jen Trynin show at the Mercury Lounge on 2/11, Paula on Letterman on 2/17, Paula at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT on 2/19 and Paula at the Beacon on 4/23. I'm also thinking about catching Bjork at Radio City in April, but I need to find out how much tickets are going to be. I'm guessing they'll be pretty steep in price. I like the new album, though, so I will try to get out for that. Still trying to make some time to go buy Cirque du Soleil tiks. :^) If anyone wants to try to hook up at one of these shows, e-mail me. Hopefully, we can make arrangements to meet. I already know there are three or four of us who will be at Toad's in a couple of weeks. At long last, I get to meet our resident veterinarian, Jimmy Mac. Woohoo! Peace. Sure. No problem. I found my copy over at Norman's (a used CD store) over on 3rd Avenue, just around the corner from St. Mark's Place. I don't know if they had more copies in stock or not. I was in a bit of a rush to get back to the office yesterday, so I didn't have much time to look. > I'd like to pick up a copy, for just about everything on it except > MMMBop.. I have to admit that I liked MMMBop from the very first time I heard it. I'm pretty impressed that those kids write their own songs and that they sing and play as well as they do. I don't expect we'll see them again after this, but, hell... they haven't caused much harm. Although, I wouldn't mind giving that youngest brother a thrashing. That precociousness of his wears quite thin after about three seconds. Good luck! Peace. On the CDNow website, they're having a vote for grammy nominee thingie. So get thee to http://www.cdnow.com and vote for Paula. Please. Only 6 more days until I get to see Paula. What a sweet valentine's day it will be!!! I thought her SNL performance was great! I loved her halter top. Way gorgeous! I have mixed feelings about the eye shadow, though. But her performance was fantastic IMHO. I just wish they would have let her do 2 songs. % Connie Groer % % jgroer@mindspring.com % - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger To buy Paula merchandise from Paula(!) try: http://pw2.netcom.com/~ilml/pcmerch.html Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Feb 1998 11:34:33 -0600 From: noviolence@juno.com (Heather L Donovan) Subject: Re: (harbinger) SNL On Sun, 8 Feb 1998 01:04:43 EST DWspinTHIS@aol.com writes: >she looked good, she sounded pretty good, but it was >over-dramatic...it looked >like she was angry or something, or trying to be overly enthusiastic >about it, >trying to show that she's not getting tired of playing that >song...just too >over-dramatic > >my opinion...trash me if you must > >hol > If you thought she seemed over dramatic on SNL, you should have seen her at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival last weekend. Is there a copy of any parts of the videos (or stills from...) IDWTW or ME on any web sites out there? Also, another thanks to those who post "related artist" content. I just got The Story's "The Angel in the House" off of a recommendation on this list and I love it. It has some of the most intelligent lyrics, melodies, and originality that I have heard in a long time. (I also got Jontha Brookes Ten Cent Wings over Christmas and love it). So that's again for turning me onto a new favorite artist. Back to Imbruglia...love her or hate her, she cowrote every song on her album except for "Torn." Though a little different in style than Torn, I think the other tracks are great.
