Well, I think the song 'The Ladder' whether one likes or not pretty much sums up the title "Harbinger" (Things to come i.e. "This Fire" > but then again i like black boots, it didn't take me long to figure out > what > that song was about.. Yes, this song pretty much tells about insecurity and I noticed a lot of young women likes color black. I like the song because of distorted piano chords. I think it's jazz influenced. Many songs on "Harbinger" use 9th and/or 11th chord like "Watch the Woman's Hand" These sounds are excellent. You know thinking about it. The song "Black Boots" is related to "The Ladder" because of the last line in "The Ladder". "The ladder is me." Music is definitely a very personal thing. And regarding the talk of other artists are discussed on this list... I don't know, I know I've only been a member a few months, but to me Harbinger is more than a list - it is a little community of sorts where many have formed friendships. I think it's nice to share interests, and I'd be willing to bet there are more than a few who have discovered new singers, or seen them in a new light, thanks to the posts and opinions of fellow Paula fans...this isn't meant to cause any trouble, it's just my little opinion! :) ~*~Heidi~*~ > Btw, I am looking for good new artists too. I read this book in college (5+ years ago), and don't specifically recall this character. This book is actually next on my list of books to read (well, in this case, re-read!).
